This has happened twice now. I shoot one round fine. The next round the cylinder pops free and I have to reset it. It has only happened with Winchester Super X, 40 grain.  Any ideas what is happening?

Warthog

No idea but I would send it back to NAA if I were you.

You are sure you have closed the cylinder completely, right?

TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Somehow, I always assume that those that shoot them, know how they work and why they don't.  Silly me.

Yeah, return it to NAA if the issue is not recognized.

Customer service contacted. Advised it sounded like it needed a new barrel. Sent it back hoping to get rid of it in trade since if the barrel needs replacing it sounds like a design issue. They would not do that and it should be on its way back to me.

Ruger, you are right.  Hud, I have owned a Sidewinder for two years, put 50 lr & 145 mag through it. Never had a problem like yours, come to think of it, never had any problems. I don't think it is a design issue at all. You should send it back to NAA.     TTFN     R
