Happy New Year Everybody!

New to the group and had some questions.

I am looking to purchase a Pug and was wondering if, from a concealment standpoint, the folding grip will fit it?  And if so, could anyone that has one tell how it feels carrying and shooting it?

Thanks and stay safe,

Glockenspiel

Yes, the magnum folding grip will fit the Pug.  Copy of a photo I found online below.

I can't answer how well it works.  For me, I'm not interested in the folding grip as unfolding is one more task required before bring the pistol to action.

I won't carry a laser device... unless it has stun, kill, and disintegrate settings.

If it were me I would look at getting a oversize grip such as the grips for the Black Widow.  I had a fold up grip and it was fine except for the extra step to unfold it.  My wife took it away from me because she carries her magnum in her purse.  I have the BW that I carry in my pocket, would not get rid of it.  Love the grips on it and just the overall feel.  Control while shooting is great too.  BTW the wife loves the folding grip, but she never carries it folded up, she has a Concealed carry purse and the pistol lives there.  Hope this is of some help
A gun is like a parachute; if you need it and don't have it, you probably won't need it again.

During a short time I used it I found a little flick of the wrist while drawing would take care if the extra step.

I appreciate the assistance everybody!

I am looking at it for deep concealability.  The folding grip covers the trigger and provides the appearance of a pocket knife.  It definitely wouldn't be my primary, but in a last ditch effort an extra step isn't that big of a deal.  That's why we train.

Thanks and stay safe,

Newbie To the Black widow and haven fired it yet , Do you have to pull the hammer back each time to fire it

Single action revolvers like these the answer is YES . Make sure you go to a training facility to practice shooting for your own safety .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Welcome Glockenspiel!

I like my PUG and my Black Widow though I tend to carry my Black Widow most.  Below is my Black Widow and my Sidewinder, which I also carry now and then.  Also you can see the Desert Gun Leather stuff and how to reach them.  A nice leather pocket holster is my favorite way to carry a Mini of any sort.  Rick at DGL makes the best holster of all sorts that I have now, there have been others, but now that I have these and love the way they worked, and conceal, I hope they will be something my nephews will find and have when I am dead. 8)

PS: I was in the Marching Band in High School and we had a guy who was great on his Glockenspiel, used to love to listen to him play.

Welcome Grumpy,
Glad to have you.
Set down and spend four or five hours on the instructions with the Black Widow empty.
Read it through until it feels like you have been using the BW for most of your life.
Taking the cylinder out to reload and replacing it should be practiced 100 times, until you can do it without thinking about what to do with the hammer.

Excellent advice from Uncle Lee.  I'd add don't dry fire (shoot with no ammo) your revolver unless you remove the cylinder.  You can chip or deform the blade on the hammer if it hits the cylinder without the brass to cushion it.  That goes for almost any rimfire firearm.  Also practice using the safety notches for safe carry.  Have fun at the range, and let us know about your experience.

Yes, Yes, practice on getting the hammer nose into the safety notches (empty cylinder of course).
You are going to be pulling the trigger while holding the hammer.
Make sure the safety notch is under them hammer BEFORE pulling the trigger with your thumb on the hammer.

Glock,
All the above suggestions are right on,especially for the practice and familiarization.

Welcome to the forum, everyone here will be glad to help.

A word of warning though, you will tend to find that your collection of minis will tend to "grow".

WELCOME Grumpybms

Hope you stick around, sorry for the late welcome, was off line a bit..

The Black Widow is single action, so the hammer needs to be cocked before you can fire it. (one of mine is pictured below)  No dry firing and if you must please use a snap cap or a screw wall anchor so you don't damage the firing pin/hammer. 8)
