I own a BW magnum, my one and only mini.  I love ❤️ it.  Carried it his morning on a mini adventure.

I am having a hankering for my second mini.  The one that has my attention is the smallest mini, the 4oz mini 22s.   Hard to believe, but there have been a couple of times I wished  was carrying a gun smaller than the BW.

I would appreciate some thoughts on the 22s and my thinking.

I found one in the net for $249. plus $30. shipping.

I really like my BW too. When I want to carry something lighter and less bulky I use my Magnum Short (22MS). It disappears in my pocket and weighs a bit more than 2/3 the weight of the BW.
And I still get to have the 22 mag loads in it.

I got the little one first, and added the BW later for the extra barrel length, and the power that it adds, and for the sights. But I still go back to the short barrel Magnum for its convenience.

Barry, thanks for your reply.  I wasn't aware that NAA made 22 mag s.   That presents a whole new ballgame.

I just discovered the 22ms on the NAA website.  Cool.

I just came from my local gun store.
I wasn't there looking for anything in particular,
just in the area and wanted to stop.
The pickings were slim, it's probably like that
at a lot of places right now.
I did notice a NAA Short, $226 + tax and call in.
I already have two, but I remember thinking
on my way home I should've bought it.
Three is better than two, right.
I just might go back and get it.

Just to clarify, you are talking about a short barreled Magnum Mini, right? I am not aware of anyone making .22 magnum short ammo.

I like my LR Mini. It is a bit lighter and just a bit thinner than the standard Magnum Mini. I had to put boot grips on mine in order to get a good hold when I shoot it.

Terry, I don't have any of the tiniest mini.22's, my smallest is a 22LR, but I'm glad I have it and do occasionally still carry it in warm weather, as it just disappears, even with the slightly oversized wood grips it has.
Otherwise I've got my carried-every-minute-of-every-day 1 5/8" 22mag convertible, another just like it as a spare but with tritium front sight, and a 4" Earl that I carry when hiking. I mostly practice with the daily revolver, occasionally with the Earl.
Different revolvers for different purposes.  There's many others I admire, especially the color case-hardened model, but they've never found their way into the budget.

I think you are right, Steve.  After some study, the difference in weight between the 22s & the 22lr is negligible.  The BW weighs almost twice as much.

I think the smallest 22lr would be best for me.   I've got lot of 22lr ammo, and around 150 22lr shot shell.  Yep, that's the mini in my very near future.  Just makes more sense.

Steve, I have been wondering about your whereabouts, lately.

Thanks Terry, all is well here. I'm pathetically healthy, and we've been very busy out hiking and hot springing.  City of Boise is a liberal boil on a nice conservative state, so we get out and go do, elsewhere.  The view of the Milky Way while soaking in a 101 degree hot spring at night is... AWESOME!

My Wasp 15/8" is my smaller one...When I need to go really small, I put the original grips on...

Good for you, Steve.  Boise appears to be a great place to live the good life.  Here in Deep South Georgia, if a person loves the outdoors, as I do, it's also a great place to live.  Some hate it, & write negative reviews on the net & in the daily paper.  Mostly because of the demographics being 72% Black.  I pay that no ever mind. The huge vast majority of blacks just want to live the good life in safety, just like us Brown & whites.

Anyway, I'm still thinking 22lr mini.  4.6 oz.  That's pretty light.

Terry treefish

Canoeal, your Wasp is pretty.  Love the cylinder.  I would like to have one, but will probably go with the lower cost 22lr.
