Video: Janus, the Two-Headed Tortoise Turns 25
September 08, 2022

Named after the two-headed Roman god, Janus was born at the Geneva Natural History Museum on September 3, 1997, and is believed to be the world's oldest bicephalic tortoise. Such a creature would not have survived in the wild, as he cannot tuck his heads into his shell to evade predators.

Interestingly, each head of Janus has its own personality. "The right head is more curious, more awake, it has a much stronger personality. The left head is more passive and loves to eat," caregiver Angelica Bourgoin told Reuters. Sometimes the two heads get into squabbles, such as which direction to walk in.

In addition to the twin heads, Janus also has two pairs of lungs and hearts. His minders must keep a frequent eye on him because if he flipped over, it could be fatal.    https://www.coasttocoastam.com/article/video-janus-the-two-headed-tortoise-turns-25/

Should have named it Manchin.

Hahaha, I would have named it Zaphod Beeblebrox, President of the Galaxy.

But that's pretty cool. I hadn't seen that before. Thanks for posting.
