Does anyone know the rockwell hardness and the type of stainless that NAA uses on their frames. I am 'tooling' up to put a stipple finish on the Guardian I just got. I just can't leave well enough alone... ;D

Can't speak for the Guardian, but the fellow who engraved my mini swears they have the hardest SS he has ever engraved. It may be of interest to know my LR mini was purchased in 76 or 77.

I believe it's 4140 BUT seeing how long it holds up to long term use with no loss it doesn't seem to be 416 which is more apt to wearing and not as expensive ............. big help huh ? Tomorrow we'll know for sure . That info should be in the tech manuals lets see if Sandy will include that , it's important stuff . Inquiring minds NEED to know .  :) P.S. how those grips coming Goldsmithy ?
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

The stainless steel is 17-4 And the Rockwell hardness on the C scale is 28/32. Thank you NAA (boy, those people are helpful  ;D )
