After CTD's price gouging during the ammo panic I refuse to do business with them.  If they had just restricted quantities I could support that, but quadrupling prices lost them my business.  It's a free country, and they made their decision to grossly inflate prices, but I am also free to boycott them for their practices.  Feel free to to do business with them, but for me it is a matter of principle.  CTD has no principles.  They remind me of when Hurricane Hugo hit Charleston and vultures descended on the city selling ice for $20 a bag and $200 chainsaws for $1,000.  No thank you.

I have to agree with ADP3. I have no problem with companies making money. But CTD was just ripping everyone off.  >:(  There are way too many companies out there that had, and have better pricing back then, and now. I know in the big picture it won't hurt them but I'll take my money somewhere else.

Unfortunately I think excessive profit has become the American way. If they can gouge they will gouge.... >:( :'(

I try to support my LGS. Yes, I am paying a little more...but when you add shipping, it's not too bad. AND, the money stays in my community. If I have a problem, my LGS stands behind what they sell and I can talk to a real person (in English) to get the problem solved without mailings and postage.

I started this thread because I read about you guys having a hard time finding some NAA guns.Thought this might help.  I also try to support the small shops. Too often they just don't have what I want. This was not intended to be a add for CTD.

It was a good thought, Grumpy, and appreciated.

Didn't think for a second you were advertising for anyone - just trying to be an enabler.

I didn't think you were pumping them either. I just thought you were trying to help people out.

I wonder how much CTD had to pay for the ammo.
If they got the ammo cheap, then it is gouging.
If they paid a lot just to get ammo to sell and made a little profit, then it is not gouging.

I don't know how much they paid for the ammo......

I think the grudge many shooters have against Cheaper than Dirt is kind of silly. I'll buy where I can get the best deal. Don't you? And I try to get the best deal for when I sell stuff, too, but we don't allow that of others?

CTD has no principals? It's called business principals.  It's called supply and demand. I'll buy from Crappier Than Dirt if I can save some money, but to each his own. We all have to make our own choices.

Like I said, "It's a free country".  I'm not trying to dictate how, why or where you spend your money.  I am not aware of any internet shooting supplier that inflated prices to the extent that CTD did during the ammo scare.  Midway, Brownell's, Graf's, Midsouth, Natchez, and Widener's certainly didn't.

I appreciate Old and Grumpy providing a heads up on a supplier with NAA's in stock.  It is useful information.  I think it's also useful information to point out their history of price gouging.  Type "Cheaper Than Dirt price gouging" into a search engine and see how many hits you get.  Feel free to buy from Cheaper Than Dirt if you wish.  Greed is still counted among the seven deadly sins, and I for one will not support it.

CTD had 22 LR in stock when Midway didn't have any to sell.
Maybe Midway didn't want to pay a high price for them and CTD did just so their customers could get some to shoot.

I have bought from CTD for many, many years and will continue to do so.

ADP3, How many times have you bought from them or you just picking up trash from the internet??

FYI - internet sources are:
Budsgunship.com is my go to for Naa stuff... Well, them and of course in general http://www.gunwatcher.com for any internet new gun.  I check out what others say on forums before I buy.  Got my Sig P238 from Kentucky Gun Co; they are also a very good source to do business with at fair prices.

uncle lee,
Re: your question, I bought from CTD pretty regularly (6+ times a year for many years-mostly 9mm FMJ ammo) before the ammo scare.  After their inflationary price increases I quit doing business with them.  There's a reason they had .22 ammo in stock, consumers were unwilling to be gouged and pay their inflated prices.    Like I said "Type "Cheaper Than Dirt price gouging" into a search engine and see how many hits you get."  My feelings about CTD are shared by many.  If you feel differently again like I said, ""It's a free country".  I'm not trying to dictate how, why or where you spend your money."  You don't have to agree with me about CTD price gouging but many internet buyers (again do the search on CTD price gouging) do.

I just got 3710 hits on George Washington being a communist.
I don't go too much on what people say on the internet.

5 people could have had a bad experience from a company and by the time the stories make it through 40 to 60 forums and are added to, that company should be shut down. If not just plain burned.
