I've been thinkin about adding a Pug to my collection. I've never handled one so I'm wondering why they are priced so high.

 My question I've been asking .  ??? ??? ???
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

PaducahMichael

Seems like the magnum only with Tritium sights runs about $300 - $325 at most places online.

Is that high?  I haven't bought anything for a while so I'm not up on prices.

It's only high if you are buying. If you are the seller, it is too low. Trust me.

As to its MSRP, it has sights which the other minis lack. The only one with a solid, one piece grip that slips on, the cylinder pin that is used is more complex than the standard mini, and it has a trit option. I would like to see other minis with this option.

All my minis I think were under 300 the pugs look to run around 325 to 350 so I'm wondering why. do sights make it worth that much more

PaducahMichael

Bigbird, from what I can tell the sights add $30-$35 to the price.

I also love it.
The Cvang grips WILL help the grouping.
I can hold it firmer in the hand.

That looks awesome, I have cvangs in dymondwood on my Black Widow I can pop beer cans at 30 feet no problem, couldn't do that with the stock grips.

So the Cvangs are that much better than the stock Widow grips? Thats surprising to me. I figured they would be better than the standard birdshead grips, but I always thought the BW/MM grips were pretty comfortable and easy to shoot with.  I have a set of Cvangs on the way to me and can't wait to try them out.

Bigbird48

I think its because of the narrower grip vs the bulky stock grip. I seem to have better control but honestly It wasn't bad with the stock grip either. I just wanted a new look and the cvangs did that. ;)

Zennashton

I'm waiting / hoping he makes some more wood cvangs that's all I'm waiting on.

I hate to be Donnie Downer here. I bought a new Pug last year. It key holed 8 out of 10 rounds at 10 feet. I contacted NAA customer service and sent it to them. In about a week or so they sent me a brand new Pug. The only problem was that the new Pug key holed just as bad!! I contacted them and told them about the problem with the new pistol and sold it the next day.  I will stick with my Black Widows. Never had a problem with them.

To Old To Run

Just curious 38sp, did you try different types of ammo with it. ?

38sp

Yes. I tried several types.  Mini mags, gold dot, winchester, and others. Nothing helped.

Mine has performed flawlessly...only have used CCI and Hornady...

Found this one new for $305...They have standard pug for $289.  Great prices here...have bought a few firearms from them.

So far I've run about 75 rounds of Gold Dot through mine at about 5 to 7 yards. No keyholes.

antares_b

I've had keyholes with 50-grain bullets through my Pug. Lighter bullets don't keyhole, and I'm more accurate with them.

The PUG with Tritium sights is worth the extra $$$, I just got mine yesterday. Those sights at least help "orient" the gun in low light, and in the dark when a goblin is lurking you'll be glad to have them.

I bought this purely as a carry gun, and it will serve perfectly in that role. A few 100 to break it in and confirm function, and then a cylinder here and there as an excuse to clean it but I don't plan to run bunches of rounds through it.

I picked up a used Pug that was in like new shape last year for $259

I really like the triruim sites as well. They light up well and I can get on target with them quicker than my Earl or 1 5/8th Mini Revolver. So the Pug is my choice of the 3 for concealled carry.

I have been bitten!!! Just picked up a Pug yesterday, and ordered a standard 1-5/8 magnum combo for the Wife.

PaducahMichael

Welcome to the asylum, Trfkcop!

Yes, you've been bitten by the mini bug. Resistance is futile. Buy more. Enjoy them!
