The banks are playing games on the sale of foreclosures. In May of 2009 just before I went to the NRA convention I put in an offer on a condo in Lake Havasu. I offered 20% below the listed price expecting a counter offer.

When I got home I found on the internet that they had dropped the price to what I had offered.

I contacted the real estate guy & he could not get any reply from the bank on my offer for over a month. I finally told him to pull the offer.

My son had similar problems on houses he tried to buy.

This is a crazy market to try to buy in. I have bought five house before this & have never seen anything like this. I am offering cash so my credit is not the problem.

The banks are listing prices they will not accept. They are simply trying to start the bidding.

Barky, I remember a few years back some rumblings in the media about the FL legislature considering taxing online purchases. I don't know what ever happened with it but the idea was probably dropped for the time being.

I know that if you purchase or sell something on eBay to another in your same state that eBay automatically charges the tax. Out of state sales have no tax. This speaks volumes as eBay would be the first to comply IMO.

Same with Amazon.

Supposedly, if an internet vendor also maintains a "brick-and-morter" store in state, sales tax is cherged even if the shipping point is an out-of-state warehouse.

Florida has recently offered an "internet sales tax amnesty period" so that we can voluntarily pony up the 6 or 7% on our untaxed internet purchases.

I've always questioned the authority of s state to tax a sale that occurs outside of the state. Next thing they'll try to do is charge an import tax on something you physically bought in another state and paid sales tax there, but brought back home.

Oh, wait, I should shut up. I don't want to give them any ideas.

too late at least one state tries to do that already

If the FFL is $50 then it's irrelevant to the argument of whether you want a BT or not as it would still be $50 on a $150 Cobra, or a $250 NAA Mini. It might be an argument not to buy any firearms period, but that's it.

Actually, Redhawk, I think that's the agenda of many of the gun grabbers: make it too expensive or too difficult to buy firearms and they're okay with making the firearms themselves remain legal--and thus supposedly compliant with the second amendment.

   Backdoor politics really suck.

All the more reason to buy as many guns as possible and then buy some more, just to piss them off

I'm all for pissing off gun grabbers in any way we can. ;)

Buy me a couple of extra BT's that will really get them mad - buying guns and supplying them to a foreigner - outrageous

I'm all for pissing off the gun grabbers, but not necessarily pissing off the government. :-0
