Just broke down and ordered a set of Cvangs plastic for my Black Widow.
I'm guessing you will be happy with them.

The wood going to have to be real special and the fit (most look terrible fitting) most excellent before I go over the edge . With those it brings the guns size out of the range it was designed for might just as well carry a snob-nose 38+ .

Well, I put my new diamondwood grips onto the Black Widow I usually carry, here they are and I also attached a picture of the BW in my current holster.  Waiting for the new one from Rick and then, you guessed it, another picture! 8)

Warty,
I mentioned this in another post a little while back but I couldnt help but notice that your BW has a "pug" style cylinder with the groves instead of a smooth round cylinder. Did you special order it this way or did you find it second hand already like that? Looks great, by the way.

Cheers

Sorry< but I am just not a fan of dyed wood laminates...

In the old days we called that plywood. :P

I sure wish he would go back to a real wood instead of the laminates but the laminates are MUCH better than nothing.

I think I found a decent stippler locally so am thinking of getting a set of plastic grips and getting them stippled.

Exactly. But the reality is the real wood is out there. I can get Walut, Maple Cherry and a whole host of other native woods.
I know most of you like the shape of c-vangs. I like a more rounded shape for mine and I carry it that way. I think the cherry looks good, a the wood cost me next to nothing. The cost for most wood grips is in the labor if hand made, or the machinery if not. The wood availability or cost is not really a factor.

Nice looking real wood bird grips. Did you make them? Being a carpenter all my life i should really give it a try.
Yeah I am a wooden canoe builder. It was not that hard; these were my second try.

No, there was a time when they were both made and I just looked for the two I wanted.

My Black Widow came with the standard smooth .22 magnum cylinder, so I ordered a fluted ("grooved") .22LR cylinder for it - can now easily tell the mag cylinder from the LR cylinder just by appearance.

I ordered a set of 22 Mag Burl Maple Grips from them. I will a post pic when they arrive.
Let me know how you like them. I'm wondering if they will hold up better for edc than CVangs wood grip. Please keep me posted on that if you don't mind.

Finally received the Burly Maple Grips from Thing Meister. I can only compare them to the Cvang Black Plastic because i don't have any in Wood. I assume the specs are the same anyway. The extended portion of the grip is about 3/8" longer and about the same in width. They are well crafted and the clear finish is outstanding. As with any solid wood, they can change with the weather as you can see that the left side toward the cylinder is not as tight as it was when i got them, but hopefully will go back. I think the grip is more comfortable being more rounded and i can get three fingers on these.

I like how he brought them to a point at the bottom , kinda wide no ?

Thanks for the info. Are you going to carry them on a daily basis? If so let me know how the hold up after a few months. That will be my deciding factor on wether or not I get a set.

There about 1 1/8" in width. I think the picture makes them look wider. I'll find out when i start carrying. But they sure feel nice!
