That's a lot of holes in the black.

tks... btw, i just added up the total rounds expended last year among my wheelguns and carbines: 13,127 in .22LR, .22S, .22WMR, .38S&W, .38SPL, .380ACP, .32ACP, and 9mm (no .357mag until this year)

that's a LOT of black holes!

I used to Willie, but not much these days.  Never owned one but I had a lot of friends who did and we would blow all our money on the cheapest but they were also rounds that worked well in the firearm, and then just make huge piles of brass to clean up.  I really enjoyed it too.

Now, I tend to shoot a single action revolver the most though I do throw in semi-autos and such to the mix, but the rate of fire has slowed.  I don't think I could even give an estimate of the number of rounds I shoot anymore. ???

we have a local club that meets once a month at the nearby outdoor range... last night it was a rep from Dead Air:

https://deadairsilencers.com/

got to run a Ruger MkIV, Beretta 92, CZ Scorpion, an MP5, and a couple ARs suppressed... the Ruger was spooky, as the sounds of the shells hitting the ground was as loud as the pistol - and no hearing protection needed....

Nope, just living with the idea that one needs at least 1000 rounds per caliper . . . . 'cause one never knows.

Ruger, Just 1000 per caliber? Then I am OK...I thought 1000 rounds per gun, in that caliber...That still leaves me a little short.

hey folks - just came back from a little 25-yard paper shredding across the street... wanted to do a function check on a bobby-pin trigger mod to one of my little Charger TDs and to check its magazines... ran 365 rounds of cheap .22LR LRN... the only malfunctions were with one BX-25 magazine (fortunately i've labeled all the BX-25s); i'll strip it down later today:

tks, fellas.... but i'm not really a good shot, just an old codger out having fun... took my 82-year-old neighbor, Bob, to the range across the street this morning... he was shooting his Bersa .380 and Ruger MkIv (he's getting really good!)... i took two SP101s and a Charter Undercover...

i especially like my SP101... the trigger is pretty smooth in double-action... i'll try some longer distances as i get more rounds through the wheelie:

as an aside, this Ruger was a @#%@#%! to get apart the first time for cleaning... had to use a bamboo rod to tap the trigger assembly down and out... but over the last half-dozen cleanings, things have gotten a lot easier...

i'm really liking .38SPL as of late... little to no recoil out of these little tanks...

hey folks - was up early for a 1200-meter swim, came home, made breakfast for my sleepyhead wife, then went target shooting at the range across the street. Used a Ruger 10/22 pistol with CCI 'Quiet' .22LR (710fps) enabled by a Firefly bolt, but then switched to my snowflake nightmare-inducing Saturday Night special Phoenix Arms HP22A, running Remington Subsonic .22LR (1050fps) - a lot of fun for the cost of $0.05 a round... i'll post a pic of the bolt and target pic after a cleaning session tomorrow... oh, forgot to show the HP22A was shot at only 5 yards - i wanted to test sights modification on the pistol:

hope everyone has a great Sunday!

jeepers, guys! i'm an old phart, one year out from Medicare! and it was only 5 yards!

here's the target from breaking in the Firefly bolt on one of my Charger pistols... 25 yards with a cheap red dot - and you can see, the shots are all over the place, but it settled in after 100 rounds... i think it was a combination of a new barrel, a new bolt, and the dolt holding the pistol:

it is a fun little accessory for my 10/22s... now i can shoot CCI Quiet (710fps)... combined with a rubber bolt buffer pin and it makes for a sound-reduced 10/22...

O.K. Willie NOW your rubbing it in . A lot of us can't see five yards without glasses ,ha , some I imagine without bi-focals .;););)

hey folks - i posted a pic in the wheelgun wednesday thread of my range session yesterday, but wanted to show a pic of a new ammo i picked up and tested - a single round at 9 feet... was curious about this stuff and wondered how it might do out of a snubby barrel... i have seen and used the tiny bird shot out of .22mag, but now figure this stuff would work well against a member of the squamata order of reptiles:

linux_author

hey folks - ready for the range - wish me luck on the 50-yard line:

OV-1D

NOW LINUX you have a real honest to goodness shooter , you'll love that piece above all other small caliber semi's . Myself I have a bull barreled one and the quiet ,silent shooter . Oh the Browning is another favorite which I think shots just a tad better as for feel .

hey folks, hope everyone had a good time watching the Indy 500 today... i got up, went for a swim, outfitted the casa for Memorial Day, then hit the range...

ran PPU .32ACP through my pawn-shop gen1->gen2 P32 converted pistol:

then put some American .22wmr through my Charter Pathfinder:

linux_author

hey folks - it's hotter than #%%#@!! out there today (91F 'feels like' 103F)... but thought i'd celebrate the first day of summer with a quick trip to the range to run some Serbian 7.65×17mmSR through one of my Kel-Tec P32s (factory nickle boron coated barrel and slide); no malfunctions or failure and the PPU seemed 'hotter' than PMC or Winchester:

Uncle_Lee

Now that is a good looking target.
I have been thinking about a P32 and now I am thinking harder;

hey folks - high humidty, big thunderboomers rolling in, but i managed to squeeze in a range visit after breakfast (scrambled eggs 'n grits)... took an old favorite, my found-used SP101... here are 25 rounds, double-action...

i think i did better 'cause i only had a small cup of coffee this morning:

OV-1D

And Ruger had nothing to do with it I suppose . :)

Yeah it's that time of year in the "sunshine state." What caliber sp101 is that Linux? I had a 357 back in the day but sold it. Only have one in 9mm now.

yep, it's a .357 SP101... i also have a Wiley Clapp version w/the dove-tailed Novak front and rear sights... but wouldn't you know, right after i got it, i found the second SP101 used for $350 less? previous owner must not have liked it due to cylinder lockup after shooting a few chambers of .357... some 2000-grit on the offending out-of-tolerance portion of the cylinder face fixed it tout de suite, and now it's my in my top-5 favorite wheelguns...

You said the trigger on the .357 SP101 is pretty smooth. Any of yours have the lighter Wolff springs? I put them in my two SPs, 2.25 inch .357 and the newer 8 round .22. Made a very nice improvement in both trigger pull and cocking effort. I used the middle option of each kit's three mainsprings, and the only trigger spring in the kit.
