Must be western PA. There haven't been any pheasants seen here in 10 years.

Here in central Michigan it's a treat to even see a phesant and it doesn't happen every year.  We can only take roosters, no hens in hunting.  I would have better luck going north for Ruffed Grouse, got one with a bow while hunting deer once.  It was standing stil.

Wow Al, so sorry!  I have pheasants AND turkeys running across my back yard.  We are now starting to see Bald Eagles, too!

Ray,
Super nice!  What O/U is that? Gauge?

I don't know if it is still true today but I know that in PA,the first day of hunting season, usually everything is closed down because everyone is out hunting.

Are high power air rifles for hunting in PA still a no-no??

Top Dog PA has allowed the use of air rifles since 2017, although there are some restrictions.

top dog

Seaotter,
That is good to hear. Air rifles do have a definite place for hunting certain game.

A lot of very good, powerful air rifles out there. They are NOT your Daisy BB guns!!!

I love deer and pheasant meat.  I hope to hunt something someday but so far I can't. :'(

I live vicariously through people like Ray and think it is great that you can do what I currently cannot. 8)
