Back in the day, shot many a sparrow off the electric lines in the barnyard with shorts in my brothers Winchester.   Never worried about where the bullet was going to come down, and then one day I nicked the wire, and that type of pest control WAS STOPPED by my father.   That nicked wire is still in use.

Back during the shortage, I bought a NAA short, and couldn't find any ammo for it.   Finally found some when the shortage was starting to ease, and paid $14.00 a hundred for three plastic boxes, it's cheaper now.   Back in 55-56, Sears used to sell shorts for $.35-$.37 a box.

Also shot a fair number of squirrels and cottontails with shorts, cause they were cheaper that the $.49 long rifles.

My best squirrel rifle was a Winchester model 74 chambered for 22 short.
Shot straight and had a long barrel so it was quieter than any other gun I had.

I actually just posted a thread asking about a belt similar to what you've got there. I'd only want one holster and more ammo, but where'd you get that?

The 22 short was made in the 70's. I had it rebuilt with new springs and cylinder. The grips are ivory.

Yes very nice..

I ordered a 22 short through local shop, it's in and waiting to be picked up, my schedule just hasn't aloud me the time to go get it yet.

I have a Riverboat edition talo but it's just to pretty to carry or shoot.

For the most part I'm a Glock fan , I own 5 , but there's just something about these little mini revolvers that I'm drawn to. 8)

Thanks. I found these grips 10-15 years ago. Elephant ivory was legal at the time. I've tried several different types of grips. I tried large grips, wood grips, rubber grips and others. But the ivory grips felt/looked the best.

The ivory is perfect for those. Great way to do a set, like having small, medium, and large of the same gun.... :)
