hey folks, having a lot of fun down here (hot and humid though - whew!)...

took my Ranger II for a short workout (40 rounds of American .22wmr)... here's a target of 20 rounds from 12 ft... it works for me, and now my Ranger II, after 450 rounds, is in rotation for summer carry:

It looks like you may be the first to actually use a RII for carry. Congrats!

tks fellas - i was surprised at how well the little scout shot... i glued some shrinktubing onto the front sight post and it has held up (we'll see how well after this summer)...

i like the ammo - it comes in two 250-round boxes from CTD... bought two lots, one for me and one for my neighbor, and every one has gone bang so far

Seems like you and it are becoming friends.
Guns are a lot like parachutes:

i wasn't quite sure at first, as i was getting light strikes... but any impingement seems to have worn down, and reliable ignition has been demonstrated over the last 150 rounds...

i still cycle all my carry weapons once every couple months...

but with my Ranger II and my Sidewinder - both in .22wmr - i have a pair of 'no excuse to leave at home' carry guns

You mention "light strikes".  Would all you Ranger II users look at the left side (at least on mine) of the hammer, the small part that actually contacts the primer edge when fired.  (Sorry, Uncle Ed, it is too light on the piece to get a photo).  There is a slight drag mark on mine where it is contacting the side of the frame as it rides to the strike zone.  When I let the hammer down easy, I can feel a drag at that point.  That part of the hammer has a rough finish.  For whatever amount, I would have to guess that slows down the hammer fall and I have had some FTF's.  I can get to that area and smooth that rough part a little.  My question,  would that be a problem with my warranty?  Seems like a simple job to save money and a trip back to the factory.  Yes, I have cycled the action many times, still feel a drag.

yes, the left side of the hammer (and a bit of the tip) had impingement and rubbing... symptoms were light strikes, but now, at the  450-round mark, i have not had a problem...

i'd call NAA if it is a problem - getting it fixed shouldn't cost you a penny, just time and effort in packing up and sending off...

NAA had good turnaround times on the .32ACP Guardian i owned (sold it off and now sticking with my P32s)

Thanks for the report, Linux. It is real hot and humid here in my area, too! When I see a report like yours it really makes me want to get a Ranger.

Perfect!  We should probably make heroine and meth illegal, too!

The 2 series is a fine gun also just wish they put the blade sight instead of the post . I'm working on getting the 1 series a long rifle cylinder made for mine , should be simple enough using a Sidewinder cylinder and having it modified , already have something to work with , so I have to sell my third borne the others are already gone ,ha . :)

Hey, OV:
I totally agree about the blade front sight--I prefer the blade to the post.  I was actually thinking of taking one of my Ranger 2s to a gunsmith and having a different sight installed ... maybe something like the Pug.  Yes, it will change the overall aesthetic, but would make it more functional.  Just a thought ...

And I like your idea about the LR cylinder for the original Ranger.  I might consider that too, if I ever decide to carry one of mine.
