A friend of mine owns a Gun Shop and Indoor Range.  Once in a while, someone brings something in "to get rid of" that is a real gem.

A lady brought this in and wanted to sell it. So, here it is in the Gun Shop safe (he did buy it from her)

I don't remember the name of the company that made it (I think it starts with a G?)

It is a "single-shot" type, the breech is loaded by removing the buttstock where the .50 BMG is loaded.

From what I was told it was used to "disable" vehicles of any kind (cars, trucks, planes) (The woman said Navy Seals used them)

It weighs about 25 lbs.  When I first looked at it, it looks like a "welder" decided to build a gun but when you look closer you can see some technical refinement. It was made for "all business" and not for style!  ;)

It is a fun item I thought I would share. If anyone knows more about them, feel free to add.

.

The distinctive large/squared trigger guard would make it an LAR T-50 Grizzly bullpup, Rick

That would be it. Thanks pietro  ;)

I looked around the internet a little, this one may be an early model or special order.

The trigger guard (big square thing) and the flash hider look different than the current models available.

At only $5.00 per round, I better get a couple thousand on order! lol!

Here's mine - Barrett M82A1 10 shot semi-auto.  Recoil is about like a 12 gauge shotgun.

IWB appendix carry??
I can heat it now, the gal sez," is that a LAR T-50 Grizzley, or are you  happy to see me?"   :P

It simply amazes me such a simply put together looking pieces of steel can shoot such a ballistic round . By the way anybody pull up that guy who had his 50 blow back in his face . Remarkable that he is still alive given the blast and parts passing by , safety glasses were a good buy for this guy especially so .

m821PA,
WOW That is really nice!!  A friend of mine has  Barret 50 but a single shot.

He reloads for it.  Takes LOTS of powder!!!

Thanks.  I reload too.  32 rounds takes 1 lb of powder.

Boisesteve

Yikes, 220 grains!  The .357 I reload takes 1/10 that much H110 for a really hot round. Wow, that's power!

m821PA,

From what I understand,H-5010 is pretty much the powder used for the  50s or maybe  4350?

The 50 pretty much comes into it's own accuracy wise after 500 + yards then the bullets spins itself to sleep.

OV, for the last year here in Boise it's all been empty shelves. A year ago I bought 2000 small pistol primers from a private party sale that were originally marked at $20 and I gave $45 per thousand for them. Lately my local reloading shop (Cliffs in Boise) has had them back in, for $93/1000.  Powder has been the same story; it's not "what's your preferred powder for .38/357?", it's "what have you been able to find?" and what useta be $25 is now $45.  I have not seen any HP-38 or H110 on any shelves. I bought an order of poly coat 125gr .357 bullets last fall, and it was $75 per thousand but the wait list was 4 months from order-placed to fulfilled.
I read one opinion that it'll ease this year, and just saw two ads for cases of 9mm ammo available to ship for anyone into that caliber.

Its also amazing how we are being ripped off with those prices . The world is going nuts around us with all pricing going ballistic just when are they going to realize most of the population is broke and waiting for another bail out check . Can't wait for that scenario to come full circle ,OH BOY we are all going to pay dearly someday very soon enough .  :(:(

LHB

There is a simple solution to the price gouging, if people would use their brains instead of their mouth.   Talking to a man who was complaining because he had finally found some nine mm on line, and it was costing him a dollar a round, plus shipping and haz-mat for cheap range ammo type reloads.   I asked him who was forcing him to buy it, and he said he needed it for his weekly practice.   Most people I know have cut waaay back on their shooting because of the costs.

OV-1D

Myself waaayyy back to none . No waste on my part .

Rick,

The compensator is the only thing that keeps it shootable for most, but the bullpup design of this one means the shooter is now much closer to the blast diverter, so you trade shoulder pain for possible hearing loss! DEFINITELY an "earplugs PLUS muffs" requirement for this bad boy! [Personally, I'd be wearing earplugs plus one o' those nifty helmets the Deathstar technicians were wearing for firing the planet buster in the Star Wars flix...]
