Black Widow accuracy?

I purchased a new NAA Black Widow in .22 WMR last year and have run five hundred rounds of various brands and bullet weights through it and cannot get the revolver to group accurately at 10 yards distant.
I have been shooting handguns for many years, have held a CPL since the late 90's, and practice with my carry weapons (very accurately, I might add) on a weekly basis for proficiency.
I meticulously clean and lubricate my Black Widow, and have a set of extended, oversized grips mounted on the revolver for optimum control.
Is there another model of NAA mini in .22WMR that is reputed to be more accurate, or could there be an issue with my revolver requiring examination by the NAA service department?
Any offered advice will be humbly appreciated.

Welcome Rusty,
Are you using a rest when shooting??
If not, please use one. That will tell if it is the gun or the shooter.
On a "strange" (that I have not shot before) gun, I always start with a rest.

I always got the best accuracy in a BW, and many other .22 WMR guns, using Winchester 40 grain ammo. Hornady Critical Defense and the 50 grain Federal JHP also usually shot well for me. The 30 grain loads never gave me decent accuracy in a revolver.

My BW seems to be accurate... At least as accurate as I am...

Rusty,
May I suggest you try at ten feet??  That is the actual self defense range.

Yes,the minis have potential accuracy at longer ranges but give the shorter distance a try.

Like suggested before, try using a rest.  I guarantee you that the minis are far more accurate than you.

Ummmm, also make room for yet another mini as they tend to "multiply"

Thats a good way to start hitting the target respectively , learn the gun and let it shoot smoothly . :)

They should be fairly accurate; even at 10 yards. Free hand, cold, aka first five rounds, at 7 yards. (Less than 2" group)

Rogue,

That is very nice.  I pretty much can guarantee that these minis are much more accurate than we are.

To me thats an understatement , I'm only better with the longer barrels otherwise I gotta be within pretty much arms length to be honest to be spot on . ;)

OV-1D,

Yep,these minis can be a bit difficult at longer ranges but they were basically designed for pretty much very up close and personal.

For me,my best accuracy is usually with the Black Widow.

I just bought an Earl with a 3" barrel and oversize rubber grips that is more accurate than Black Widows I have owned. My experience has been that longer barrels stabilize bullets so they don't keyhole, and they also provide a longer sight radius. The 3" Earl is quite accurate at 7 yards with Winchester 40 grain and CCI Velocitor .22 WMR ammo. It still fits in a pocket, which is where I carry it.

.

I'm not very concerned about stellar accuracy from my BW, as it's a "get off me" gun, meant to be used up close & personal...

rusty...what exactly are you getting for groups?  Are the bullet holes round? Also how is the trigger pull...some of them can be brutal and that does nothing for "shootability"....

By running 500 rounds through it, I will presume you are accustomed to it by now. Being an experienced shooter, I trust you can admit when you may be the problem, or at least part of it. Given these things as facts, I would suggest sending pictures of your target(s) to Rachel (customer service person) [[email protected]] and tell her the problem. She is very helpful and will work with you to get it resolved. Do report back and let us know what it took to correct the issue, please.
