Truth is I would never pay more for a knife than a firearm. It's just not reasonable. Remember the old saying "don't bring a knife to a gun fight?"
I came really close however with my NAA Short model for $179 and a Benchmade Bugout I finally found at $160.

Some listed for best in 2025 are over $500! :o

I have been a knife collector since before I was even a teenager.
My dad got me started, gifting me with them every birthday and holiday.I have over 250 knives in my collection and will tell you my favorite of all time is a Buck 307 I purchased it for $19 in 1972 snd csrried it for 30 years! After I retired it was followed by the Victorinox Explorer to meet my hobie needs.
That ole Buck cuts through thick rope with the first swipe compared two or three attemps with the Kershaw Leek and the Benchmade Bugout.
If you want a really great knife look back and not forward.

you may not need it but you should have it

Back in my day long ago most all knives offered in the US were made in the US. Camillus, Schrade, Buck, keen Kutter. Great Eastern  and many more.
Then China opened up to the US market and most all US makers moved to China to gain even more profits.
They may have been just as good in sharpness and quality but what American collector wants a China made knife stamped on the blade in his collection?
Not me!
Then even the iconic knife maker, Boker of Solingen Germany steel compromised their products to factories in Argentina named Boker Plus.. To increase even more profits setting aside tradition!
Maybe it's a good product but not the same as owning the famous solingen steel knife.
Recently I heard Case knives will finally be sorting some models to China, Sad day! for sure for the American collector/  :'(
My thanks to Victorinox for staying true to their original roots so far!
I'm dediicated to companies that are dedicated to their products history and quality.

Your Buck was actually made by Camillus for Buck. I have a few knives.

Yep, Camilius was one of the best knife forgers back in that day.
My dad, bless his soul, gifted me some Camilius knives in his last Chrismas with me but they were made in China.
Maybe just as sharp and as good in quality but hey, made in China looses value to me compared to USA made!

Anvil,
Buck knives proudly boast that The Good Lord is their Senior partner. That is why I have a number of Buck knives.

I knew Chuck Buck and know CJ Buck.

Recently the Church I do security for presented me with a Custom Buck model 110. Igt is the 4th Custom Buck knife they have given me in a couple of years.

Buck knives started in the basement of a small Church and now they have over 300 employees!!!

my only complaint with "BUCK" is its almost impossible to get a scalpel cutting edge on them , why is that ? Any answers . I know the steel is so hard it makes it that way for one thing . ???  ???
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

The older Buck 110s had blades that were ground too thick for a really good edge. I believe they have changed that recently.
