Guardian finger ext. mags

Has anyone cut down the finger ext. mag baseplates to match the flat plate mag?  

    If I get 2 fingers on the grip it drops the mag while fireing.No problem with the flat base plate. I know I can get new ones for $25+ but I'd rather spend the money on ammo and practice.

Welcome W748, I haven't personally had a problem using the flat base plate mag, or the one with the finger extension.

   

   I normally carry the flat base plate because the extension doesn't make it carry so well in my pocket.

   

   If some part of your hand is not somehow getting onto the release catch, then I'm wondering if the magazine catch is somehow weak or there's a problem on that particular mag with it not latching. Have you tried swopping over the base plates between your 2 mags to see if the problem follows the mag body?

   

   Looking at my mags, you could certainly file or grind the extension down, but while it might be a solution it's not a fix for the actual problem IMO unless the mag extension changes your grip so you contact the mag release.
