A new steel locking case for all NAA products will be used from now on instead of the  plastic box with padlock - check out the soapbox for details.

I want a few.

It is difficult to stay ahead of the crowd. Sandy and crew has found a way to add another step. Yet another reason my gun shop carries their products, and will continue to do so.

I like them.
It is a good idea.
Can't find where they are for sale as of now.

Where would I keep all the keys???

Lee- you would probably need to build an extra room to store all the boxes... ;D ;D

Good news - I just received a reply from THE MAN who states that these will be available on the web site as accessories.

Maybe they will fit in a shoebox!

NOTL21

Price?  And will they all be the same size?

It would be cool to have a really big one to lay out all of the minis and maybe slide it under a bed!

PaducahMichael

I don't know. Sandy's reply stated that they will be "moderately priced".

I'm sure there's only one size. (But I've been wrong before, if you can believe it.)

Wow. Very nice. Well played, NAA and Sandy. Well played!

(What a great Product of the Month idea, by the way, HINT HINT! :) )

Looks sharp but I rarely save the boxes a gun comes in.

Can you even begin to imagine how many of those keys will fit in ONE shoe box?

How many of your guns have come in keyed metal lockboxes?

You can send yours to me. I'll pay the postage!

The boxes are on the web site under misc accessories and display boxes. Cost is $19 + shipping.

The devil is in the details. You give the size but how secure is the box & the lock?

MR_22

Sweet. And at a decent price, too. I have a couple just like those without the NAA logo and they cost more than that.

As Sandy said in his Soapbox, these aren't to prevent theft and won't stop a creative and determined person from getting inside. What they are designed to do is prevent access to the firearm to stop accidental shootings. Kids who typically end up shooting themselves or friends won't get able to easily get into these boxes. I think that's the point.

I'd suggest that you read Sandy's Soapbox for details and disclaimers.

The boxes are probably secure enough to keep honest ( or very young ) people from getting inside - but they are certainly small enough to carry away. Think of it as a "nicer" home for your Mini than the plastic case and tiny padlock they came in before.

I hope the key is not like most small locks systems ( garage door handle , sliding glass door and so forth ) where just about any key or small object can open it ..... kinda defeats the purpose for kid safety . Another thing I hope it doesn't change the price of the gun to the worse . But good luck with them anyhow .  ::)

From the picture posted on the order page, they seem to have "real" keys with teeth.

cfsharry

I like it. I may have to buy a second Mini.

sopsax

I have two of these metal boxes without the NAA markings - bought them from a local safe company for putting a pistol into my checked airline luggage. I've flown once last year with one of these, taking a S&W J-frame in my checked luggage. Worked fine. sopsax

I wonder how many mini's will fit in one box?

I've got the box ordered - I'll let you know how many fit...probably will vary with size, huh? I'm hoping a short, long and magnum will fit in one box.

About one Hogleg.
Or 4 LR models.
Or maybe 5 or 6 Shorts.   ::)

Uncle Lee,

I think a .32 ACP would fit in that metal box LOL!

The (empty) metal case can always be screwed down somewhere (through the bottom) using flat or pan head screws, with a thin pad covering the screw heads to protect the gun.

Just ensure that the location will give ready access for the key insertion & drawing the gun.

I have a couple of small safe's, with push-button unlocking pads, so bolted to various floor joists in my basement, and rafters in my attic, etc, etc.

You can also secure them with a steel cable, like some people do with computers. Yes, you can cut the cable, but it takes more planning and equipment and isn't going to be stolen just on a whim.

I actually bought one of these small locked boxes like this to secure in my car, but haven't ever done it. It shouldn't be hard to secure it to a metal surface in your car to be able to have a secure place to leave your guns, if you need that. (Going to court houses or federal buildings come to mind.)

PaducahMichael

I try to avoid going to courthouses and Federal buildings. Nothing good ever happens there.

No doubt. Unfortunately, a local Post Office building is a federal building.

And when's the last time the Post Office brought you GOOD news? See what I mean.

I don't get real mail anymore. Most of what comes via USPS us junk mail. The rare things I get that I want from them either come from eBay or GunBroker. The UPS man brings the real good stuff that USPS won't deliver to me.
