Guess I went about this purchase a little backwards but it all works out the same.

While at my favorite LGS I noticed a couple boxes of CCI Maxi mags on the shelf so I thought "why not", even though I did not even own a firearm in that caliber...... YET..... Figured I would either end up with one eventually or I was sure I could find someone that needed the ammo.

A couple of days later I found this kit at a different LGS, whom also set me up with the Gold Dots. A store down the road netted me the Federals.

That's how everybody does it ........ isn't it . It's a fool proof method , and excuse, to acquire more weapons ............. buy the ammo first . Fine choice . ;) ;)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

The main thing is you have one now and you'll enjoy it.
I'm new to the mini world and this forum also, so I don't know if I can officially welcome you yet, but there are a lot old pro's out there that will.
I think as a newcomer , like myself , you owe it to yourself to check out the gun collection that OV-1D has, if I can remember it's on the test area under testing 1234,( Most Impressive).
I believe that is where it is located, I have a good memory. it's just short,if not, hopefully someone will chime in and get you going in the right direction.

OV-1D

Thanks for noticing Old run . Whats collecting without sharing , gives others something to SHOOT for . ha ha .  ;) ;) ;)

In all honesty I have bought several guns just because I ended up with ammo.

I have had previous experience with both the 22S and 22LR versions, though I had never looked at them as much more than a novelty item. The small frame and slick wood grips, combined with my large sausage fingers, made it incredibility difficult to maintain any degree of accuracy. I have the type of hands that comfortably fit a double stack 1911, which is one of my primary carry weapons.

Hello,

Which model (for your first one) did you get?

Roanoker494

Can everyone see the picture I posted? Just wondering since it shows "awaiting approval" on my end.

I purchased the NAA-22M-CRKT package, aka Tucker TrailMaster. Came with the stonewashed revolver, CRKT free range fixed blade knife and leather wrapped Kydex holster to store it all.

OV-1D

  Of course that's a beautiful picture "PACKAGE" and all , thanks .  :) :)

This forum said they like pictures, so keep them coming, your on your way to a lot of interesting conversations.
Looks like you made a nice purchase there.

Roanoker494 - nice stuff. That NAA/CRKT combo package looks good. Welcome to the forum!

Awesome rig! Looks good. Welcome to our forum. As you will see posted by members from time to time, this is a very friendly group of like minded individuals, kind of like an old time barber shop. And addicted to NAA firearms! The one you bought will not the last one you buy, either!

bbgun

Hey Mainstreet,  welcome to  our old time barbershop :)  You will probably end up like the rest of us: cashing in your IRA and pension to buy more NAAs.  When you end  up in the poor house they will comfort you hahahaha :)

I sure do appreciate the warm welcome and look forward to learning a little something around here. I am a member at several different sites and one has taken on more the feel of a family. That particular site is based around chainsaws and the members get together all across the world just to show off their saws and cut some wood. The Virginia group has an annual get-to-together plus we do public shows at several Heritage days festivals and tractor shows.

I actually looked at a lot of gun shops before finding this kit at a little shop in Dublin Va. Around here the choices for a 22mag handgun seems to be limited to a NAA or a Kel-Tec, the latter not being very attractive or comfortable. I was really holding out for a mag with a LR cylinder but the stonewash finish on the Trailmaster sold me.

Once I get it out to the range I will post some info on how it handles.

I'm glad to find out that I'm not the only one that's bought a gun  because I already had the ammo!  I sure took some razzing at work over having so much  ammo that I had to buy extra guns just to shoot it all. Nothing like being prepared for the unknown.  8)

  I presently have a few boxes of 380 , 32 S&W and 17 HMR I need a gun for ..........oh and a box or two of 308 and 45-70 . One of these days .........................  ;) ;)

Roanoker- if you ever get to Richmond, go by Greentop. They have the best selection of 22 mags around. I found my BW there and they have PUGs in 22 mag also.
BTW- welcome to the fray from one SW Virginian to another.

I had 3 boxes of .25 ACP ammo left over after I traded my Baby Browning for a Bushmaster M4 A2 Carbine, so I bought a $45.00 Raven Arms .25 Saturday Night Special to match the ammo I had left over!

For that 32 s&w keep an eye out for a H&R model 632 or 732. They are solid little revolvers and can usually be had for around $100, give or take $25 for condition. The 632 has a pull pin cylinder and the 732 is a swing out.

I am down in the lower corner next to the West Virginia state line, so finding myself in Richmond probably will not happen anytime soon. In all honesty I would prefer to have a root canal than go into a city the size of Richmond, then again if a new gun may be involved.....

Right after I made that post the "awaiting approval" message disappeared from the picture. I figure the mod approving that message realized it had been missed.

Never owned a Raven but I did buy a Sedco 22 many years ago. Sedco was kind of a knockoff of the Jennings/Davis/Raven/etc/etc produced by one of Jennings' former employees. I believe the Davis brothers were behind it and it ended in a patent lawsuit that Jennings won.

Thanks for the tip Roanoker I've always liked the looks of H&R's , just simple good looking handguns . :)

That area of Virginia is beautiful - and uncrowded.  I stayed there passing through a few years ago and wish I could have spent more time there.

The first time I saw this post, the picture had not arrived. Now that I can see the kit, your post makes a lot more sense! I also have one of these kits. They are really unique.

Just about pulled the trigger on a new Sidewinder last night. I circled the deal for a good while but walked away after remembering I am in the middle of buying a house. $312 out the door seemed like a steal when most places are asking $349 plus tax.

NOTL21

If you call it a fixture you can probably justify the purchase!

Consider it as a new type of fire extingusher for the kitchen , emergency equipment so to speak.  ;) ;)

Still works for me after all these years, (Yikes) she can't read this can she. LOL

Had a 4" Earl in my hands today and have to say I am digging on all the different variations. Prior to now the only experience I had was with my buddies NAA revolvers. He owned a 22s that was stolen about 2 years ago and I replaced it with a 22lr at Christmas.

Careful. You might get hooked. :)

Uncle_Lee

The 4" Earl started my spree and it hasn't stopped yet. So if you don't want hooked, leave them alone.
I buy mainly by the pair.
As soon as the 4" Sidewinders come out, I must have a pair of those.........
