I've been thinking about purchasing a Sidewinder with the conversion cylinder. I plan on shooting it. Do they hold up well and are they fairly accurate?

I have two Sidewinders; one I keep in 22LR, the other in 22mag.  They each have ~300 rounds thru them.  I do keep the cylinder faces free of carbon, and clean them after every range activity.  I love these guys.  They are in great shape so far.  Accuracy?  To me these are belly guns, so with short barrels and minuscule sight radius, I am happy with a 1" grouping at 12".  Other than that. they go "Bang" and dirt flies.  I love my Sidewinders.

Well, I have two Sidewinders too but without conversion cylinders.

Mine have held up quite well and shoot accurately as well.  Great little firearms.

It's dark here already, gets dark quick this time of year.  I wil get the range report to you all as soon as I am able. ;)

Wondering which I will get first; the range report or my Rangers . . . .

38sp - I have two Sidewinders, both with conversion cylinders. My original Early Bird has seen well over a thousand rounds, mostly LR and shorts, with no problems. My newer 2.5" Sidewinder has had a couple of hundred rounds fired through it, all LR and shorts. As far as holding up goes, I am a bit careful how I close the cylinder because the parts are small, but so far no problems. My Sidewinders are two of my most accurate minis, though it is hard to say how much of that is the gun and how much is me. I like plinking with the Sidewinders because I do not have to hang on to the the cylinder pin when I am reloading - one less thing to drop.

Thanks for the replies. I think you've made up my mind for me. I need a sidewinder.

For best accuracy with it (or any NAA), go ahead and order either the oversized rosewood or Black Widow/Secret Service grips at the same time as your Sidewinder.  Maybe not quite as sleek looking as the OEM birdshead grips, but WAY better control.

i have the 1" Sidewinder w/conv barrels - i shoot mainly 22LR/shorts - enough accuracy for me (3" groups at 12 feet)... i swapped out the grips for a pair of NAA engraved grips

the little mouse looks good, shoots good, carries well!

oh, i did make the mistake of putting some lousy 22LR though it - makes extraction difficult after 50 rounds... now i just stick with CCI and life is good...

Are the oversized rosewood grips any bigger than the black widow grips, or about the same?

They are basically the same size. They are, being wood, a tiny bit wider than the rubber ones.
