Greetings:  I have been looking for a WMR cylinder for my Black Widow.  I am somewhat confused because I am seeing different stampings on the front face.  Some are plain. some are "L" and some are "LR".  How do I tell if it is a true Mag cylinder?   Thanks....

I have a few minis with both cylinders and the only ones marked are ?L? for long rifle. None of the magnum cylinders are marked.

Normally the mag cylinder has a "M" on it, the long rifle has a "L".
Maybe if you get single caliber Pug, MM, or BW the cylinder may not be marked.
But if you get the convertible the cylinders may be marked.

My experience is, mag. cylinders are
unmarked and long rifle cylinders have
a L on them.

I just checked both of mine (both bought as mag only) no markings.

I have a Widow and it is marked "L".  It shoots long rifle.  But I see on Ebay a cylinder marked "LR".  Also plain ones too.  So I think you all are right. I need a plain cylinder.  Thanks guys!

Yeah none of my magnum cylinders are marked even on my convertible models.

I think the easiest way is to drop a mag shell if it fits , well there ya go LOL. A mag 22 will not fit a LR cylinder

My opinion is if you can't tell the difference please do yourself a favor and sell the gun . Honestly . Guns are not second nature to some and should be avoided , innocence could get hurt . Besides the difference in cylinders is quite oblivious if it isn't to you out there reread the above and follow . :):)
