Ranger II EB Orders

FYI - I placed my order for the Ranger II on Oct. 1. First, I got a reply "order complete". Next day: "order incomplete". I called and found out that the NAA computer system had already charged the $489. to my credit card. This was an error. Credit cards should not have been charged until after the process of selecting the lucky ones to get a Ranger II has been completed. I had to order a second time. The first order was cancelled and the charge to the credit card was nullified.

WTREE, same thing happened with me but I used paypal.  They refunded me and I ordered again.  Now we will see who gets them and who doesn't

That's exactly how my order went down warty. I called and they said it would not affect if we our eligibility so I'm not gonna stress it.

I missed the CC and Debit card snafu.  I didn't place an order until Oct. 3 due to a business trip.  But I received no acknowledgement of my order.  I E-Mailed Jessica and she confirmed receiving my order.  I knew the whole time that I was traveling that the Ranger II program had been announced on Monday, but just couldn't get to an internet connection situation.

Seems like whenever one wants to play, workin' gets in the way.

The first order form was the wrong one.
All orders on it had to be reordered.
And you can't use PayPal to order a gun from anywhere.

I wasn't aware of that then but I am now.

Well, Paypal let me order my Ranger II's both times from NAA.  So maybe NAA, who uses Paypal, tells them it isn't for a gun.  :-X

Sounds like a crap shoot I don't wanna be in. I went with a cc on my second order.

Warthog

I used a CC the second time, through PAYPAL.  NAA uses them as their clearing house.

Paypal depends on having funds in an account to cover charges, at last night  in some cases.  That could be an issue for NAA when ordering weeks or months before delivery.  They want sufficient funds to still be there when they finally ship.  My guess anyway.

Hard to say.  My old business was a grocery store, we had a clearing house as Debit Cards were just starting to come into their own.  Hard to say why NAA uses Paypal but they do so I hope it will work out for all of us.

I only see 1 post.  But I did see spelling issue after first post, deleted it , and tried again.  I try to check spelling/typing issues before posting, but sometimes messup.  I was doing that on a smart phone while waiting for car service and sometimes the smart phone spell checker doesn't seem so smart.

PayPal is not gun owner friendly and tends to freeze accounts (including your funds) at the most inopportune times if they find that the transaction was firearms related....or I have been told and it has been reported on other forums.

I just avoid PayPal as much as possible to avoid the issue.

Bj, I see only one now too but above your post, you can see I quoted your previous post in mine.

No worries, I guess the mod's made it flee.  :)

I posted this before but I guess it was missed.
Here is PayPal's policy on firearms purchases:

"What is PayPal's policy on transactions that involve firearms?

We don't allow PayPal members to buy or sell any kind of firearm, whether it's in working order or not. The same goes for certain firearm parts and ammunition.

For example, using PayPal, you can't buy or sell:

Any firearm, including rifles, shotguns, and handguns, whether they're for sport and recreation, collectibles, or curio or relic firearms.
Firearm parts, including but not limited to receivers and frames, silencers, and kits designed to modify guns so that they fire automatically. High capacity magazines, multi-burst trigger activators, and camouflaging firearm containers are other items in this category.
Ammunition, including propellants like gunpowder or blank ammunition; ammunition or cartridge cases; and primers, bullets, or propellant powder designed for any firearm.
Stun gun sales are allowed for U.S. residents, but only if the transaction is permitted by law in both the buyer's and seller's jurisdictions. (PayPal account holders outside the U.S. can't buy or sell stun guns.) Before they complete a sale, U.S. sellers must make sure that the transaction is legal in both locations.

Related items that you can buy and sell using PayPal include paintball guns, blank guns, and air-soft guns, as long as such transactions are legal in the applicable jurisdiction. All of these items must display the markings required by law, must not be convertible to shoot a lethal projectile, and can't include blank ammunition."

I remember you posting that. PayPal sure doesn't care about our second amendment rights do they?

Nope they don't.

*** it! I did not see any offer of Pay Pal use the second time around. I would have preferred to use it. Just do not tell them what you are purchasing; they do not really care as long as they are getting their cut of a purchase. Keep them in the dark and everybody, including them, is happy.

I used a cc the second time around. Was not gonna take any chances on a PayPal policy interfering with my chances.

Bj

Just got ANA email include g this:

Get your order in before it's too late
Ranger II Early Bird Program
From all of us at North American Arms, to our NAA family, we are proud to announce the Early Bird Special on our Ranger II (in case you missed the first announcement.) The wait is finally over and you are just a few moments away from ordering yours. There are still several spots remaining on the list, and even if we reach 250 orders before the end of the month, you still have a good chance of getting a Ranger II.

Warthog

Got the same email Bj.  My order is in and has been since they sent the email the first time and refunded everything.  October first I reordered so now I will wait until I find out if I get one.  8)

Warthog

We all had to reorder them.  They had a SNAFU the first time.  Now we wait.  ;)

That is one of the reasons that we had to reorder, PayPal was on the form.
If you get caught buy/selling a firearm using PayPal, they freeze your account. I guess NAA don't want to chance it.
Also, the form didn't work.

NAA did get the initial EB order problems fixed in a hurry, this is also good customer service.  I didn't get ready with an FFL copy until it was already fixed.  I notice this forum seems to get an early start in the morning.
