I have the conversion cylinder to let Super Companion fire 22LR. After years my fingers don't feel?work as good as before. Hard to hold small parts. Thought I might sell the cylinder. Looked to see what they are going for. Found this. Ebay.   https://www.ebay.com/itm/224636079217?hash=item344d5a8c71:g:QEAAAOSw3BJhWv-a    Asking price was 250.  Bidders have run it up to $416. 22 hours to go on bids. Who the F is so hard up for this?

And a slight risk it won't even work. Sometimes they're not in proper time with the gun.

or maybe its someone just running up the price and won't pay

I think the seller is the guy who makes them and he can't get the C&B cylinders to rework. I think he is the guy I got mine from years ago. He is pushing this one as the last. .That pushes up the price for someone who  wants/needs? one. If I decide to sell mine I will offer it to you guys first. It won't be THAT stupid high  price.

whoever designed this was a very smart designer, he needed to refine it a bit though.

And people laugh at me for paying $200 for an Uberti 45  conversion cylinder.

You mean the Uberti C&B that looks like an SAA converted to fire 22lr, or a standard Uberti 1860 Army or 1850 Navy C&B to shoot 45LC? Regardless, $200 for a conversion cylinder for any of those is a good price, only for the one that converts the SAA look alike to shoot 22lr that's a sssssmokin'! deal... [DAMHIK]

The first time I saw a conversion cylinder was at the first NRA Reno convention. I thought it was really a great idea UNTIL I saw the price. I could have bought a complete pistol for less. The only reason I could ever see to buy one was for someone to obtain a cartridge pistol who wasn't legal to buy one.

I have them "because I can".

I was surprised when I first saw how inexpensive the second cylinder is for minis, if you choose both when buying the gun. Like the BW convertible is only $35 more than the magnum only. That's a deal.

.

I'd be willing to bet that the bidders are folks who could purchase a black powder handgun much easier than a metallic cartridge handgun.

IOW, it could be a work-around the laws that apply to their area.

You are probably right for some.  But like Lee said  I got mine "BECAUSE I CAN". This is part of the reason I am broke! ;D  It has been fun but lets face it the Companions can be a lot of work for 5 rounds.  My cylinder is still for sale under Buy Sell Trade for much less than the stupid price.  If the price is right I might be talked into selling the entire set up. Don't want to but we have had a love/hate thing for years and I see other toys I want  8). Give me some time to get it all in one spot and take new pics.  Will post them on B S T.    Make Smoke!
