This is a pistol I recently purchased.  Shoots like a  sweet dream.  I?ve wanted one for several years, and finally pulled the trigger.

Ruger Mark IV 4.75? Standard.  Love the tapered barrel.

I've had two of those over the years; a blue Mark I and a stainless bull barrel Mark III. Nice shooting pistols. Somewhat a PITA to strip and clean, and the Mark IV is said to be easier.
The fun part is deciding on a magazine loader; there are many different types.

The mags are really easy to load, as it has a mag assist on the side.  But out of Curiosity, do you really find the mag loaders to be of help?

bearcatter

I'll guess they still have the sliding button? You can run through a lot of magazines pretty quickly, and that button can make your thumb sore. Ruger sells a black loader with a hole in the center for $4.50, similar to what I used. They also have a good selection of holsters. I used the leather one they sell made by Triple K, and a nylon Uncle Mike's. Ruger offers nylon too. Your LGS should have a few goodies if you prefer that.

Ruger makes a fine Luger style pistol and so easy to shoot . Myself I have the stainless bull barreled one and love shooting it . There a Browning out there similar to the Ruger but lighter and if you can get your hands on one do it another wonderful shooter . :) :)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Your stainless is a beautiful gun.  The other is nice too.  I used to own a Browning BuckMark Bull Barrel.  It was a great gun.  A friend had a gun I wanted real bad.  He wanted my BuckMark.  So we traded.  I?ve never been sorry.   The Ruger Standard has been on my radar for a good while.

Bearcatter,  thanks for the referral.

Very nice Ruger,  I have a Buckmark from 1991,  great shooter,  another PITA to breakdown and clean.

Yours looks like one I had, but my trigger was flatter since I had the Volquartsen kit. Better trigger, and no more mag safety. Also had a stainless plug replacing the Loaded Chamber Indicator. The mods cost half what the gun did.

One thing I forgot to mention, on most Marks you'll need a small rubber faced hammer for the bolt stop pin. It's usually tight in and out, at least at first.

Thank you.  The Mark IV is so very easy to assemble & reassemble for cleaning.

These are cheap & work just as well.  This is not my idea, picked it up reading a review of a reloader.  A bottle cap.  Comes in many colors.

That was good thinking by someone. Stiffer caps would be best.

Guardians don't have a button. I use Makershot loaders.

I?ve got several very similar to yours.  Yep,  no button n the side od mag, the bottle cap is useless.

Of all the guns I've held that Browning feels as if I was born with it in my hand almost molded to it . The weight is perfect the loading a breeze , narrowness makes it kinds concealable but again holding and shooting just come together for one inch groupings , I'll never give this one up , I just wish my 1911 sat this well in my hand . ;) ;)

I don?t own a full size 1911, but I do own the Browning Black Label 22 Compact, the 85% version.  Currently my favorite handgun.  Like you say, it fits just right.

I have the Browning Black Label in .380  Its a great little gun!  :)

There are not many after market parts available (sights)
One part I changed was the Spring Plug and Spring Guide Rod.
The plastic Plug and short plastic Guide Rod looked like a "weak spot" waiting to fail

And I thank you very much.
Just started my second cup of "Rick" coffee and these popped up.
Excellent coffee & beautiful pictures.

One suggestion, the grips should be near the same color as that light colored leather.

Rick, I changed the spring on my Ruger SR22 to stainless steel.  What a difference.  After you brought this up, gonna do the same for my Black Label 22.  Thanks.

Nice looking holster.  Excited about the one coming for my Sidewinder.

Browning Black Label 22 Compact, and it?s new holster.  Love the pistol and holster.

It's a .380  I made that Holster and Mag carrier about a year ago. I like the Burnt Orange Thread but Gold Thread would have looked better because of the color of the Grips

Rick , does your Black Label 380 have a 3 5/8? barrel?  Same as 3.625?.  Tactical is calling it a 3.7? barrel.  I guess it?s yo close to make a difference.

They also offer it for a compact full size model.

Rick_Jorgenson

Mine is the "Full size" 4.25" Barrel

The Browning website refers to the shorter barrel as 3 5/8"

They are great guns!

Mine is the "Full size" or "Longer" Slide version of this gun (4.25" or 4.2 Bbl.)
The "Compact" version is the 3 5/8" or 3.7 Bbl.
They are now available with or without Rail's for accessories and different color frames.

As long as we are talking 1911's: This rig, a custom SA 1911 in .45 acp, is coming up on 22 years old. As can be seen by the photo, it has been well used in that time. The pistol, holster and mag pouch are original, the belt has been replaced once and the hardware is original Sterling Silver.
