Has anyone modified their cvang grips to fit a sidewinder? If so could you post a picture, I have the wooden birdshead grips and a pug style slip on currently shipping to me but I thought if a cvang could be chopped at the cylinder shield if might make a nice slim 2 fingered grip.

Any thoughts??

Have not done it, and likely never will. My SWs are safe queens. I prefer a 3" Earl for my plinking mini, and the standard configuration mini mag for carry. But back to your question. If I were to do it, I would start with making them fit against the recoil shield, just for aesthetic reasons. From there I would do whatever I thought would look better. I can see no reason this would not work.

Theres been a few on here that adapted the Cvang to the Sidewinder ............ you'll hear from them I'm sure . Its a piece of cake to do .  :)

A quick google confirmed that people have done it. I will be doing it at some point because my sidewinder is my micro carry gun.

Any opinions of cvang vs pug rubber grip?

Lots of opinions on this one.

Personally I prefer the stock Pug (slightly oversize) grip.

Cool. I'm going to give both a fair shot. My friend's wasp grips feel good so I'm sure the pugs will be nice. I'll mod my cvangs and try shooting with both and post back my "final answer".

Here's a rare pick I found originally posted by "uncle" of a sidewinder with the modded cvang a on it. Hopefully this will help others who Google it in the future.

Thanks again to everyone for your insight and time!  :D

Before I read your post I thought you were stealing Unc_Lee's snapshots . His pics are very distinctive , nothing but the best  ;)

Indeed. I'm glad it occurred to me to credit him though I couldn't recall his exact username. Thanks. I'll try to remember and post my picture with the cvang installed along with my shooting impressions for both grips.

Uncle_Lee

A half round file the shape of the recoil shield, file at the angle of the recoil shield, trying often.
Go slow and it will fit and look good.

Awesome. Good work Uncle Lee. I will try that exact method. I think I have just the right file. :) Thanks a bunch.

*update several weeks later*

Using my bastard file, I slowly shaped the recoil shields. Looks great. Here's a picture for you guys. Thanks again for the help.

I loved the slip on pug grip and it got the job done. However. I feel like I can manipulate my sidewinder one handed better with the increased purchase offered by the chong vang grip. My mini is finally perfect I think. :)
