Crooks in office want a disarmed population so we can't shoot the street crooks.  Its called professional courtesy, one crook to another.

Now just to spice things up and play Devil's Advocate: once a felon has completed his time, including probation why should he not be able to possess a firearm of any kind? Why should he be denied his God given 2nd Amendment rights? He does not lose his 1st Amendment or 4th Amendment rights.

Now I care nothing for just about any true criminal but it if one believes in one having God given rights then man should not be able to take them away once one's debts are paid. It is one of those subjects; think about it. I understand the reasoning but it just makes sense if looked at in an honest manner.

i agree, once a felon is released, including probation time, all of his/her rights should be restored. If a person is too dangerous to possess a gun then they shouldnt be released in the first place. There are many felonies that are not violent crimes. There is no reason why these people especially shouldnt have their rights restored.
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

Outside of ifs, ands, or buts, I agree. I mention the aforementioned exclusions, myself, not being versed, in "chapter and verse" of "the law". But, in general, I agree.
