Gosh, I had to go to the archives to find Sandy's April Soapbox.  Clicking on the standard menu selection reveals only March 2016.

I suspect I am with a large group that are disappointed in the Ranger II news, but am willing to hold out until "it is ready, if it ever is".  Makes me start thinking more about that "other" toy I have been trying to put out of mind.  Maybe I'll just tap the funds and go with those thoughts, as it seems I'll have plenty of time to recoup funds for the Ranger II release in the future.  As Hickok45 has said, "So many guns, not enough funds".

I'm not encouraged by the April Soapbox, but neither am I permitting the Ranger II angst to impact a purchase decision "other-gun-wise"...

When, if ever, the Ranger II is available one of two situations will prevail-

1.  It is around $500.  (which sum I can easily access and justify), or

2.  It is more than $500. by enough that I don't want it anyway.

My patience is infinite in this particular regard...

I just bought a pair of 4" Sidewinders.
$1016.00 plus tax....
I guess I would pay a little (maybe a lot) more for a pair of Ranger II's.

i have two to play with in the meantime. better they take their time and get it right than rush it like remington and get it wrong. sounds like there may be some cost problems of manufacturing involved still as the reason for the if ever.

  I believe some of these Ranger parts are farmed out and waiting for someones elses material to come , this can cause grief for everyone involved . I thought thats what drove up the price for the original to not make it affordable for NAA , farming stuff out .

This entire saga is the result of the feline escaping the tow sack prematurely.

I will wait....this will help me exercise my newfound interest in the art of being patient.

Though glacial the pace may be, the ultimate reward should prove our anticipation has not been in vain.

Yes, we will wait, 'cause we are faithful . . . . but it does allow a little space to expand in another area while waiting.  Expanding in another area does not mean at the expense of the Ranger II, just allows an extra anti-itch cream application before the Ranger itch is confirmed.  One must always be actively in the hunt with multiple fronts to access and attack!

Well I for one won't pay over 400 for one so guess maybe I'm not gonna have one.I mean really 400 for a mini. Theres several nice cc guns out there for 400 , I've had my eye on a M&P shield 9mm for a while think I'm gonna spend my money on that now.

For that much you can get two minis & not have to worry about a fast reload.

Wow, Unc!  Your minis are beautiful!  The Sterlings are cool as heck--but I absolutely love the Bauer!  It's such a simple and elegant design.  I don't know too much about them, but I'm gonna have to start researching, because I want one (or more).   


Oh, and I swear, every picture you post looks like nothing in your collection has ever been fired ...  Incredible!

The Bauer is a great pistol. It is an almost identical but unlicensed copy of the Baby Browning. The Brownings, now PSA, are manufactured like Swiss watches, while the Bauers are not though they are extremely well made pistols. Just remember, if you do not fire the round and go to clear the chamber do so gently on any of these older pocket autos. The firing pin is most often used as the ejector and if racked hard enough they have been known to fire.
