Seems we all like to look at guns so I figured I would start this thread and post a pic of one of my trusted wheel guns. I inherited this from my pop. A nice ruger 22mag with lr conversion cylinder.

Bj

Looks like new, must be taken care of.

smokeless joe

Yes it was well taken care of. At one time he had a couple hundred pistols and then one day he took most to a gun show and dumped them. Almost immediately regretted doing so.

Bj

I regret not taking the Colt Woodsman .22 my Dad offered me a long long time ago.

Arts09

That is a nice one. Gotta love them Rugers, "built like tanks"!

smokeless joe

Yeah I've got three more rugers. I'll post another one next Wednesday ;)

Warthog

I have many Rugers.  Here is one of my favorites, My Speed Six

Nice one Joe. I have the same piece, but with a shorter barrel. It's probably the gun I've shot the most. I have a Wolff Springs, reduced power hammer spring and a slightly altered trigger return spring on mine, so I can practice fast draw with it. I also have the front sight removed so it won't drag against the holster.

It used to twirl really well, but all the balance changed when I took off the sight. Of course it's easy enough to put the sight back on for shooting.

That's kind of what my uncle did, although on a smaller scale. Had I known, I would have bought his Colt 1911 that he brought back from the Korean War, but he didn't tell anyone he was selling them.   :'(

Let's keep Wheel Gun Wednesday going with a S&W Talo Edition. No Ruger Wheel Guns in my collection unfortunately.

RogueTS1

These have been posted before but they do fit the bill. Taurus 455ss in .45 acp/.45 Colt along with a Taurus 450ti in .45 Colt:

Warthog

Two more Rugers, my 327FM Single Seven and my Old Army BP revolver.

Some good looking iron being posted. I always liked the revolvers over the semi autos. They just have class and style.

I agree with you completely.

Yeah my pop had a couple nice Lugers that I can remember. Those are the ones I wish I had in my collection. I was still fairly young when he dumped them all but those do stick in my mind.

Warthog

My dad brought his Korean War 1911 home but he was afraid he would get into trouble so he declared it.  The MPs took it from him and disassembled it completely and then took the frame and gave the rest back to him.  A while ago he gave the "kit" to me to see if I knew what to do with it.  I bought a Double Star frame and put it back together.  I still have it.  Here is the picture of it below.

Another one that has been seen before; but for the newer guys, two Color Case Hardened SAA's with Ivory Grips (Lab Fab):

Well, in the Eastern Time Zone, Wednesday is over now.  More of mine to show on next Wednesday.  :)

Wheel Gun Wednesdays!  Ooo, I Like It!  I'll play next Wednesday!        (if I can remember that long . . .)

All so beautiful , funny how Ruger guns have always looked like boat anchors compared to the sleeker Smiths and Colts . Run out of bullets just beat the bad guy into unconsciousness with one blow , Smiths and Colts take two or more .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Bigbird48

Boat Anchors ok well maybe. I like the looks of some of the Rugers. But I see a lot of similarity between all 3 mfg's. I think maybe S X W and Colt have a lot of the Old West in their styling being they both been around since the mid 1800's were as Ruger is a fairly new company only been around since the late 1940's . Ruger probably looked at the style Colt and SXW were putting out in the middle of the 20th century and saw they were doing well and styled their guns after them. They must  be doing something right. They are the largest gun mfg in the USA.
Don't get me wrong I love the Olds Colts and S x W but some of the new stuff could be boat anchors too.

Boat anchors can be useful, as OV said.  Reading a review of the army adopting the Sig, and the Glock lovers were howling, when a man replied that he had been an M-60 gunner in Hue during Tet, and on two occasions had a VC crawl into his emplacement.  A that range, he had used his 1911 to make an attitude adjustment along side their head,  His response to the Glock lovers was do that with a Glock, and all you would have is pieces.

Here's my Ruger .32 H&R Mag  Single Six John Wayne special edition. Has ebony wood grips. Just enough engraving to look good.

I will be a player next Wednesday !!!

Ruger

I 'spose it could be used as a boat anchor if you tie the line through the trigger guard.  Somehow, I never thought of the Blackhawk as such.

This is my rare and hard to find S&W Model 43 22 LR Kit Gun that was made and shipped from the factory in 1961. It has an aluminum frame and cylinder.

smokeless joe

Lots of good looking iron on this page. I'm gonna pace myself and hold out til Wednesday for my next pic. But keep em coming guys.

Bigbird48
