Chill Bill

Hi all.  I ordered a pocket holster from Rick today for my new Guardian 32.  He came just short of threatening to hold the thing hostage until I join the forum, so here I am.  Long time lurker, and have benefitted immensely from the info here, so thank you all.  I started with a 22LR 1-5/8 several yrs ago, introduced to me by the ex LEO who taught our concealed carry class.  Recently added a B/W that rides in luxury in a Desert Gun Leather pocket holster.  Waiting to receive my Guardian 32 ACP.  Once I'm off probation, I'll send a pic of my new G32 with the home Rick's making for it. I'm expecting it to be a good pocket carry, the weight doesn't bother me at all (it'll rotate with a jframe & B/W). Again, I appreciate this forum and (most of) the discussions :).

Welcome to the asylum forum !

Congrats on the Guardian 32. I like 'em so much I have two. I think it's the best pocket pistol there is.

I also have Rick's first 32 paddle holster. You'll be very pleased with his quality work.

Thanks for the welcome, Bearcatter!  Yeh, I followed your G32 posts and it helped in my decision making.  Thanks to you, I was mindful to check the frame and the bore was out of spec. I know there was some in a batch that had some machining issues, and  NAA is replacing it as we speak.  Matt responded immediately and assured me, as I anticipated. No slam at all against NAA quality -- in any work, stuff just happens, we're human.  Usually, as in this stuff, it's not end of the world.  The difference is how the manufacturer or vendor responds.  NAA is, to me, unquestionably the very best in customer service and product quality. I buy NAA to keep and to pass on to my son-in-love.  Can't wait to break in the G32 and include it in my pocket carry.

Welcome Chilly . . . . Looking forward to your posts and opinions.  We need more fodder to chew on . . .  ;D

Thank you, Ruger, Joe & OV-1D.  My reply posts are delayed, pending mod approval.  The welcome is appreciated, to be eventually rewarded by pic of the new DGL Guardian pocket holster.

Mainstreet, thank u, sir.  Yes, I've lurked in the shadows here for a long time and have seen Uncle Lee's insatiable appetite for pictures with his morning coffee.  Y'all do a great job supporting his need, and I'lll do my best to pitch in asap.  He deserves the best we can offer. ;)

Yes, my second 32 was from a batch that had machining issues, due to an outside vendor error. Not NAA's fault, and Matt was great keeping me posted until it was sorted out and he had one to send me. I actually haven't fired it yet, due to only having an outdoor range. I'm sure it will be every bit as good as my No.1, which is perfect in performance. They are an exact match in looks.

Be careful Chilly, as OV hinted, Addonitis is very common and hard to get rid of once you are exposed to the joy of owning, fondling, and admiring your first NAA Mini.

Ruger, PaPa K:  Thank u both for the welcome. These guns do multiply, I know, I know.  Trust me, adding a Guardian . . . well, it followed me home. What can I say.  But dang, they each have their own place.  I NEED it!  Thank God for an understanding wife.

Chill,
Welcome to the forum. Great bunch of folks here.
Looks like you started off with what I consider the Flagship of the mini line up.

I purchased my Guardian 32 when they first came out through their LE program and just before retiring, sent it to their "spa" for some upgrades.

You also went top of the line with one of Rick's fine holsters.  Good choices there.

Let us know how many more minis you have by now ( they tend to "multiply")

Thanks TD.  Appreciate the welcome.  Yeh, I've loved the LR & love love the Black Widow.  The BW has become my trail running partner, couldn't ask for more versatility.  Just haven't been a semi-auto fan, but the G32 attracts me for size.  And I like the DAO for pocket carry.  I just never felt good pocket carrying a chambered striker-fired...but I get paranoid.  I frequently carry a S&W 638 jframe, front pocket, so I don't expect to be anything but comforted by the weight of the G32.  Time will tell.

Good day, all.

A NAA with a DGL holster is the Rolls-Royce of setups. Even when it's not a Guardian 32 !

Five posts down, Chill Bill, ten more to go !

Ahhh yes.  The DGL holster fills my pocket so perfectly for the Black Widow.  I know everybody has their carry & holster preferences.  For me, I've come to appreciate the DGL natural leather, the way it takes on a patina from use and still looks great...mmmmm.  But then there's the black with colored thread that would look so nice with the G32.  I stuck with the natural.  It's in utero at the moment, at the Phoenix mother ship.

OV-1D:  Thanks for the probation support! I guess posting & replying & redoing my failed capcha attempts is my new retirement hobby.
I'll pass on answering my own questions for fear of public embarrassment by instigating an argument with myself.

Welcome Chill Bill.

I saw your handle and it immediately brought my memory back to when I was a lot younger.  I mean a lot younger.  There was a cartoon character by the name of "Chilly Willy".  He was of course a Penguin who was always looking for a way to get warm.  I was just wondering if anyone on this forum especially Chill Bill would happen to remember Chilly Willy.

We are in the middle of a goodly amount of snow fall.  Looks like maybe a couple of inches here and still coming down fairly heavily. So we may all be Chilly Willy before long.
A gun is like a parachute; if you need it and don't have it, you probably won't need it again.

Snow is what makes you install heated mats that turn on automatically with the first snowflake and turn off 15 minutes after the last flake.

Thanks, Mrmurl.  Yup, I do remember Chilly Willy.  And Deputy Dawg, etc etc!  I grew up in the snow, but defected to the South.  Snazzy snow mats, there.  Stay warm & off the ice.  Thx again for the welcome.
