You need to tell the truth, that being a little kid you have no knives.  Does your mother know your on a gun forum living in your little world of fantasy?  There is nothing wrong with liking things as in guns. The part thats wrong is trying tp fool people, and then looking like a dummy when caught at it. If you go look at your past posts you will see that you were not doing adult very well anyway. Go play with the pictures of your new knives...

I am telling the truth.  The first time I used a quality kitchen knife, I saw the difference that the right tool makes.  These new knives will make excellent additions to my collection of kitchen tools.  :D :D

Nothing for my mini collection, but I did get a KelTec PMR30 and a Maverick O/U home defense shotgun, both from my 2 boys. I kinda expected the KelTec, but the Maverick was a total surprise. I have threatened to bring one home on more than one occasion They got a used one in, and decided I needed it. They were right!! It was a total surprise!

That's the holster I use hammer but I use it on the left side as a cross draw. Nary a bulge to be seen! Got to love these little pistols....

Dinadan

No guns for me on Christmas morning, but it was still a good Christmas. Nice holster, Hammer, but it sounds like Gray got the prize presents. I always like the completely unexpected presents, so I bet you had a smile on your face when you opened that Maverick, Gray!

I would have really been happy to have found a Sidewinder in my stocking Christmas morning but wasn't to be.   Been on back order since August.

Scroller - I know that hurts, because last year this time I had a Sidewinder on order and had been hoping for months for it to arrive. All the sweeter when it finally got here!

No firearm presents from Santa or family this year. It seems bike parts were the hot items this year. The bike is going to be extraordinary when the Spring riding season rolls around this year.

And the bike is?

RogueTS1

No photos of it yet but it is an old classic restored and refitted as a cafe racer. 1974 Honda CB750; only had 10,400 miles on it when I got it.

I like the cafe racer look. Would like to see some pictures sometime. Bikes and guns are my life. I have owned 3  honda CB 750s in the past. Have a 1990 Honda GB500 cafe racer style. Still looks new. Also a Moto Guzzi V11 Sport . If its a bike, I like it. I need to get rid of some bikes, but then I ride them and its No GO..

RogueTS1

Sounds like a few I could appreciate riding. I will get some photos to post if my camera will allow. Just keep in mind, the paint on the tank has just been buggered by a shop towel thought to be clean and somehow stripped the paint. A new paint job is now in the works before Spring also.

Your right, but I am in over my head. I license 10 motorcycles, which includes 7 different brands, plus 2 mid 70s Honda 400Fs that need the carbs cleaned and are not licenced. One has 2000 miles on it. Newest bike, 2013 Triumph Bonneville SE.
Cause of this malfunction-unkown.  Results-lots of fun.

Ride when its warm, go handgunning when its not.. Life is great.

This thread is about , Was this a good Christmas?
Just before Christmas  I bought a Ruger handgun, and no its not a Smith, but just another challange.  Anyway my wife was there when I bought it, I paid for it, I shoot it, but she takes credit for it being a Christmas present.Go figure! Must have something to do with the I DO thing.

grayelky

"A Ruger handgun"? Really? They make quite a few. Which handgun?

Greyelky.
A SP101 in 22 Cal. Can be used to build up your trigger finger  into the weight lifting class.  Single action is good, but double action was in a crap class of its own. I have did a few things and knocked  about 5 lbs. off the pull. There is more to be done, but haven't done it yet. I blacked out the fiber-optic sight, and that helped my accuracy. Shooting this Ruger is like running with weights on your legs, so when you take them off your faster which means better. Thats what shooting the Ruger, and switching to A  22Cal Smith does. Don't get me wrong, I like the Ruger, Its a handgun, ain't it?  I can tell I like it, as I have run somewhere over 2000 rounds through it. I have shot tens of thousands of rounds through Ruger semi-autos, and I could never part with them. It just that for about the last 5 years I am hooked on double action.
I love a challange!
This is probably more than you wanted to know...

I gave my son a 1976 CB125 with only 1,250 miles on it and he also did the cafe racer thing to it. I own a 2004 Suzuki SV1000s and a 1992 Yamaha fzr 600.

Boone,
I always thought shooting double action to be a good way miss the target and have most always fired single action. One of the downsides to formal target shooting I guess. You've got a better perspective than I; shoot double action enough to get really good at it.
Most of my shooting now is with semi-auto and those pistols but one are all single action.
To stay within the thread, I got a Swiss Diamond frying pan for Christmas. Bet that send thrills up and down your spine.

boone123

Harry.  What cal.is that?

I did target shooting  back when.  Learning to shoot double action (I am not a pro) has made me a better shot with both single action, and semi-auto.

Dinadan

Boone - how was the hammer on that Christmas SP101? My .357 SP101 is one of my favorite guns, but when I got it the serrations on the hammer were so sharp that it was painful to cock it. Maybe I should have left it like that - it would certainly have encouraged me to shoot double action! I used a fine sharpening stone to smooth it down and mostly shoot single action.

boone123

Dinadan ...
They have improved the hammers. From what I have read they were pretty bad. That hammer is pretty hard to pull backanyway.

cfsharry

Boone,
..22 through .45.  Not formal competition but formal 25 yd. bullseye, left hand in pocket, smallest group possible type shooting.  Was the way I was taught to shoot handgun.  Helped a bunch for developing the mechanics of shooting.  Did quite a bit of handgun hunting when I was younger but have taken nothing larger than Whitetail.  At some point I realized that if I was ever called upon to use a handgun defensively it would take a form less formal than bullseye shooting.  Most of my handgun shooting now is combat style shooting.  This serves two purposes.  It prepares me in a more practical sense and it allows me to be pleased with larger groups than I used to be capable of shooting.

None sense. Take any gun, shoot a group and save the target. Shoot 2000 rounds of .22 through the same type action (semi/revolver), and then shoot the same type target with the previous gun, and you will be amazed at how much better you shoot your center fire!

I agree with this.

Sounds far fetched but shooting your hand guns without using your sights at shorter distances should be the acceptable way to shoot with both eyes open , yes just like the movies but that's relying on one or two old faithfuls , or more , that sit well in the hands and God as your spotter . Seriously .  ???

I ordered a CVA Optima V2 Pistol, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7P9LsZ41ns it's not in yet, but, this is an evaluation video, now I know, 50 caliber isn't in the same class as .22, but it is blackpowder, so it does kind of fall into the Companion range, lol. The guy that did this video left much to be desired, but, toward the end, he grows to love it.

Don't forget the plastic sabot sleeves for your .50 BP pistol. They'll let you use .44 rifle (larger than pistol,) .44 pistol, .40 pistol, and even saw some for 9mm.

Sort of like "accelerator of the 1800s." :)

2GJ,
How does the .44 bullet differ between rifle and pistol?
