This photo has not graced y'alls presence as of yet. So, here we go. For the Morning Coffee consumption persons. All three in 6.35 mm; Bauer Baby Browning in SS, Schmeisser and the before seen Astra. The Schmeisser is a very detailed and solidly intricate pistol.

More pictures for Unc_Lee . My last picture is of my Maggie Mae (Bull Mastiff) as a pup she now weights in at one hundred twenty lbs . (Winston) is the English Bull about one hundred lbs, and the first (top picture) is my English Mastiff (Tyberious ) he's pushing one sixty lbs. now . Guardians of our Universe as they are .  The two pepper boxes are 32 rimfires (have a few new boxes of those new 32's) and the multi barrel and other are 22 longs but thats pushing it, myself I use shorts and smaller to make sure they are shooters .

I'd like to see them downgrade one gun and make a .22LR Guardian. I've been wishing that for 4 years. I've got a pile of 2-6 cpr .22 and would rather practice shoot it instead of my 60 cpr .32 ACP. I rarely shoot my Guardians because of ammo cost and iffy availability.
DON'T YOU DO IT!
I don't need any more guns.  I don't want any more guns.  I'm not spending $ on any more guns.
A .22LR Guardian????  Hummmm, lets seeee,  Okay one more ;)

Not at our house. We can never have enough of them. Hence the Gun Fairy keeps us stocked with new items on a regular basis.  ::)

PS: When the time comes we must have enough to properly outfit a decent sized platoon.  8)

I'm still waiting to hear back from Smith and Wesson. My 340sc .357 developed gouges in the scandium frame under the forcing cone and it may also have a slight crack. They have had the gun since Jan 17th telling me it may be 5-7 weeks for an answer once examined. Many people tell me they will most likely replace the gun since I'm the original owner. I bought the gun to have a .357 for CCW but found it was not up to the task apparently. Looks like it's time to get a 640 or 640 Pro all stainless. I also have a 442 .38+P rated airweight that has been second fiddle to the 340 so that will be my pocket carry. I've had all steel j frames in the past and have pocket carried them as well. We'll see what happens once they contact me.

I am getting something new but not what I expected. I heard back from Smith and Wesson they are not going to go paws up 100% on a replacement gun but have offered me some very reasonable options. I need another .45acp like a hole in the head but since I really like my M&P 9 Shield I've opted for the .45 version. I had the 340sc .357 for 20 years almost to the day I carried it shot it and enjoyed it the whole time. I really feel it was as they say a carry a lot shoot a little gun but 20 years of periodic range sessions were the norm. If you have ever had the joy of shooting .357 in an 11.9 oz gun you would know you need to train. Yes most of it was .38 but a cylinder or two of .357 (sometimes more ugh!) was pretty rough on the gun in the long run (as well as me). RIP 340 you served me well. My 442 .38 has assumed your role.
Smith and Wesson has been very professional in all of this and I get it as far as a "deductible" of sorts. I'll have something I'll actually carry unlike my Sig P245 that isn't so easy to hide. There is a huge difference between what was compact in the late 80's early 90's compared to the subcompact carry guns of today. I know I'm preaching to the choir on that one.

what exactly are they charging you for the replacement? I had a S&W 637 that developed a crack and they replaced it with a brand new 638. Are they charging you something because you are choosing a 45 shield instead of a j frame or would they still be charging you if you chose a j frame? your post isnt clear on that point.

No crack just battered below the forcing cone not a defect according to them not worth the stress of a fight I retired from a stressful occupation no need to go there.  I had the choice of anything I wanted deductible based on value. 20 years of shooting the gun took its toll again not worth the fight  the price was very fair.

It's no big deal I got my money's worth out of that gun. At my age getting my wrist torn off isn't as much fun as it used to be. They offered me an M&P 340 1st I asked if there were any options so I was allowed to pick and choose. I've shot the 45 Shield it's a great gun. I've been a 45 lover for many years. I have the 9mm Shield and I really like it. I'm looking forward to the new addition.

You're little quote at the end of your posts wouldn't happen to  be from Electric Ladyland's 1983 A Mermaid I should Turn To Be now would it? lol

I found out many many years ago in an old house out in the country on a very windy night that the wind actually does cry Mary.
I'm a big Hendrix fan

Uncle_Lee

I bought an old farm house. The wife and I lived in it for four years.
In the winter, at night when the wind was blowing and it was snowing, You could see the snow and ice crystals floating around the living room.
That was a cold old house.
Finally saved up enough money to make up a down payment on a new double wide.
That was a different way of living.

(Oh, on interest, 15.5% at the bank. That was in 81 check it out.)

One of my closest friends bought a tobacco barn in the Carolinas and somewhat converted it to living in talk about drafty , sweet Moses you could stick your fingers thru the sideboards literally . It didn't sink in it was made that way to dry the green tobacco but talk about cold it was cold to me twenty four hours a day seven days a week to this new Southern boy that I was . Needless to say bikers can live like this thats why I drove the VW bus carrying the beer . He used it for second home in the mountains aside from his Florida dwelling never did close it up , Jim is a true to life survivalist born at home in Nebraska many years back . All the wildlife is a continuing story that lived with him . ;) ;) ;) ;)
