Let me add that I just now took the cylinder out and let the hammer down and the gap is gone. Yep, the hammer is against the frame. For just a very quick analysis I would say this ensures no light strikes. Cause if the hammer sits exactly on the frame with the cylinder in then it had better strike the casing good.  :) Now of course this is just thought of in two minutes time so I could be wrong.

Makes perfect sense to me and my hammer sit flush to the frame on an empty chamber but not on the safety notch.

In the past I had two PUGs 1 had a substantially heavier hammer spring ( hope thats the right term) the weaker one had quite a few misfires with winchester super X. It was hard to say if it was the hammer or the ammo. I didn't shoot the one with the heaver hammer much maybe 50 rounds. What brand are you shooting? CCI seems to make the most consistent 22 ammo from my experience.

Stopped into another shop on the way home and looked at 2 others that were the same. While I was there I put 50 lr and 50 magnums down range with no hiccups. Thanks for everyones input.

Your question caused me to go look. I have a brand new, fresh from the distributor, black Black Widow. I checked it. To my surprise, there is about 1/16" gap (maybe less) between the hammer face and the frame. The cylinder does have just a little wiggle when in the safety notch, but no more than I have noticed in other NAA revolvers. When I returned the BW to the shelf, I also checked a Rainbow mini and a 1 1/8" mini and both had the same gap, and about the same amount of "wiggle". My guess is yours is normal. Just shoot it till the barrel falls off.

I wonder if it's only on the newer ones. That's about the same distance mine has. Like I stated I don't remember the PUG having that gap.

Just got back into the NAAs and purchased a standers 1 5/8 in 22/22mag. While the hammer is in the safety notch it doesn't sit flush with the frame and there is wiggle in the cylinder. I do not remember my PUG being this way. The play is on both the levels and magnum cylinder. Is this normal? Any insight would be appreciated.

If I could only have 1 handgun it would be a Glock 19, If I could only have 1 long gun it would be  a Mossberg 500 12GA.

I sent pictures to NAA and they said it was unacceptable and want me to send it back. So far the customer service is superb.

Late response here but I have been out of town. Comparing it to my other PUG this one is not up to snuff in my opinion. The hammer spring is ungodly heavy compared to my other PUG. My first pug is buttery smooth and consistent where this one seems super tight and hard to cock. I am going to call NAA first thing Monday morning and see what they do.

PS: I am by no means bashing NAA or their manufacturing process, sometimes this stuff happens. My original PUG has been in my pocket since the day I bought it  ;D

I will note that it does show when the cylinder is in place since it is a gouge and not a scratch. I know this isn't typical of their firearms so Im not bashing them by any means. In reality its not a big deal but if they will fix it why not 8) maybe mine was made on a Friday ;D

And here's another

I revived my new pug and I was quick and In a hurry to get home. Upon getting home I of course wanted to fondle it a little and noticed a decent size gouge in the frame and the sights once again pushed far right. I see so many talking about the machining quality of their guns and I expected a lot more in quality control. The picture doesn't do the gouge justice.

Still new to NAAs but I've been carrying a PUG the past week or two and i like it. I have a very crazy schedule and change into different uniforms a couple times a day and noticed I was leaving my glock 19 or 43 in the center console of my truck due to being unable to carry it in workout attire ext. I noticed the value of having something this small so I ordered another PUG. The pug has some decent sights and I was able to keep a couple inch group at 7 yards. I too am looking for a ranger since the size and weight is about the same. For ccw If i pop off 5 rounds I'm not sticking around to reload, Im headed for the hills so the break top isn't a deal breaker for me 8)  Still want a ranger though.

I opted for the solid wight dot vs the tridium

there one in one of my local shops, don't think the price is too stellar though.

I'm going to have to go to my LGS and get my Pug rear sight moved over. It came off center from the factory.

I guess mine was pretty hard to push over since the tolerances were so tight. They were tight enough to shave metal off of the sight :). Hopefully yours isn't as bad as mine was.
#15
I took it to my local smith and he got it pushed over, the sight when pushed on from the factory had a sliver of metal shaved off that was sitting in between where the hammer would fall. If you are able to see the photo in the original post notice the foreign object in the gap where the hammer falls. He was able to push the sight over and remove the shard of metal that was sticking out, I will take it back to the range and shoot it again soon.

Does it hit where you aim?
If so, don't move it.

It does but its due to a weird natural aim of the pug my eyes were centering the front sight perfectly down the center of the PUG even though the dot was not lining up with the line on the rear sight. Latter in the shooting session I then started focusing on "dotting the I" and everything shifted.

So while fondling my pug today I noticed the rear sight was pushed to the right and was curious if they are drift able. I tried tapping it with a brass punch and a hammer but figured id ask the forum before going full hulk on the thing. It looks like theres a piece of the sight that fits into the notch where the hammer falls but it could be my terrible eye sight. The sight isn't too far off but just for my own sake id like it center.

Oh and I ordered another Pug today 8)

I bought a new in box Pug T couple months ago, local store, paid about $20 under MSRP.   Bought a Ranger II 3 weeks before Christmas, (local new in box), paid about $20 over MSRP.   Being over MSRP was very unusual for this store.  Of course, finding a new in box Ranger II in any store in this area is very unusual.
On the subject of buying local, sounds good until you think about it.  Many stores give 10% off to employees and regular customers.  All locals are subject to sales taxes while many internet buyers are not.  Many states have different sales tax amounts.  As this site is about firearms, and as I worked for a local gun store some years back, sometime local is not the way to go.  As my gun store owner/manager use to tell me, before the internet, the store set the price, now the customer tells us what it should be.

Your post is very logical, I admit I was spoiled when I was in Fort Campbell and could get any gun I wanted tax free at the PX. There are many gun shops in the local area of Fort Campbell and I believe that drove gun prices down due to competition. When I moved to Arkansas it was a culture shock in prices. I knew they would be higher but not this much higher.

Maybe I came off a little harsh on my LGS. I truly believe in supporting my local small businesses and would love to do business with them. I stopped by today and their glocks were $200.00 over what Academy sports and Cabelas has them for and I believe those two stores have high prices for most guns. I am always polite when I go in and don't try to haggle them to lower their prices, they are what they are and they have been in business for a long time. I wouldn't mind paying 30-50 over retail to support a local business but when it becomes over $100-200 dollars over retail I will not.

Like I said I'm new to the NAA minis and was unsure of the true market value, everyones responses are greatly appreciated.

...and had my eyes set on a 22r/22 Mag with a 1 5/8 inch barrel. I found 1 in a shop new with black rubber grips but they wanted $309.00 and another one used in another shop for $299.00.

New 1 & 5/8 inch barrelled combo (22LR and 22 Mag) with rose wood grips for $233.30 shipped:

https://tssoutfitters.com/shop/naa-22mc-22-magnum-rosewood-grip-with-22-lr-cylinder-single-22-winchester-magnum-rimfire-wmr-1-6-5-rosewood-stainless/

So while I was in the shop I did a quick google and that is the website I saw and immediately walked away. I don't know where the shops are getting there prices, unfortunetly theres not many shops in my area. The one shop with the nicest owners have their guns sometimes a $100.00 over msrp.

My pug is the one with the white dot not the tritium sight. I am happy with the pug and even if I paid a little over they seem to be a little harder to come by then the standard ones. I guess I assumed gun shops would sell at the same price as online, maybe places like Buds uses low prices to attract customers that are unaware of high transfer fees.

The 22lr/mag combo for $309.00 does have the black rubber grips that I like but I cant find the specific model anywhere.

So I was in my LGS today and saw both of these cases sitting on top of the case holding the NAA minis and thought how cool they were. I signed up for this forum and the first post I read is this one, what a weird coincidence.

NAA Products / Pricing in my area
December-31-18 16:12
So Im new to NAA guns and just bought my first one yesterday which was a Pug and I have fell in love with it. There are only a few shops that sell these in my local area and there prices seem way off. I paid $319.00 for my PUG which doesn't seem to far off from retail. I went to buy another one today and had my eyes set on a 22r/22 Mag with a 1 5/8 inch barrel. I found 1 in a shop new with black rubber grips but they wanted $309.00 and another one used in another shop for $299.00. From what I see online they go for 250-280. Would it be crazy to spend that much on this model or is that what they sell for with two cylinders? Any advice is strongly appreciated!

And for the used one its at a pawn shop, what would be the max someone should pay for that model? All I can do is throw them an offer and see what they say.
